Blood results, what do they mean?
I now have my full blood results:- Ferritin 67 (previous 50) Transferrin saturation index 64% (previous 48%) Se Iron 35umol/l (previous 25) Can someone tell me what these results mean? Can Sue/Joolsg shed any light on these results after 3 months of iron?

query about pred and surgery
I am having a total hip replacement later this month, and had my pre-op assessment this week. After some deliberation the nurse told me that I should not take my pred the morning of my op (my admission time is 11am, I presume for an afternoon surgery). I will see both the surgeon and the anaesthetist

Vault granulomatous Polyp
Hi everyone Thank you in advance for reading my post. As with most of us my journey has been very difficult. Following a Bilateral Salpingo Oophorectomy last March, which my then consultant (not a endometriosis specialist but I was still very naive about Endo) advised would “cure” my endometriosis

Mucinous Ovarian Tumour
Hi. I recently had a total hysterectomy following a scan showing an ovarian cyst. The report showed stage 1a mucinous ovarian tumour on my left ovary. I had subsequently had blood tests - CA125, CA19-9, liver, kidneys and full blood count, all of which were normal. I now have conflicting advice from

Genetic osteoarthritis especially in my knees, was using magnesium spray, but since on Radiotherapy PC sessions, wet weather, suggestions?
Have had genetic osteoarthritis in my knees for decades, my Uncle and Brother have both had knee replacements, but have been advised by friends [and brother] find alternative relief solutions! Maybe it is because of PC radiotherapy treatment or wet weather ALWAYS worst time of the year, but particularly

think I’ve found my trigger.
I have posted on here before asking for advice. Have always suffered on and off but the last 18 months have been awful. Saw a dctr last year who just gave me sleeping tablets, saw a dctr a few weeks ago who gave me pramipexole but after reading on here and other sites about the side effects decided

Sourcing Thybon Henning
Hi everyone. I've been a member since February 2022 and read the great info every day but this is my first post asking for help. I've been taking 40mcg of Thybon Henning 20 on NHS prescription since 2016, with only a couple of supply issues during Brexit. However, the pharmacist rang me last month and

FLARE UPS AND STRESS CONNECTED
Good morning folks, I've recently been having more flare ups i.e. arthritis more painful and wonder if there is a link to stress. A neighbour suggested I 'go into a home', I'm 64, single, advised not to drive until after knee surgery, no family contact, redundant due to Covid and until the RA, was

second opinion?
I was diagnosed with endometriosis over two years ago when I was being tested for a problem with my bladder. Doctor found a mass and sent me for scans internal and external. I also had a hysteroscopy (more than one eventually) where they had problems with my cervix. I have a massive chocolate cyst in

Heart failure
Saw cardiologist in March. He asked me who told me I had heart failure, I told him he had told me five years ago and yearly ever since. I saw him before my valve replacement. He said he wasn't sure I had heart failure. Sent for battery of tests and then got letter saying I have heart failure with

Hi. I haven't posted for a while as I've moved from England to Wales. I used to see Dr SZ at Gatwick Spire, and am hoping someone could recommend an endo closer to Wales. I can't find anyone on the ThyroidUk list.On the Thyroid UK list, Dr GC ( who has Hashimoto's herself ), does video conferencing

Thyroid menopause supplement no hrt
Hi. I've been feeling quite good for a while now but I've had to stop taking HRT.I'm now feeling not fabulous again. I'm looking at all the natural alternatives. Anyone got any suggestions which won't interfere with thyroxine or aggravate the thyroid? Thank you

Testosterone
Hi everyone, I'm a long time ThyroidUK participant. Right now the thyroid replacement is good, vitamins, minerals, are all great. I'm very particular to ensure this. I use HRT (Triestrogen/progesterone) topical cream and have used since age 45 and I'm now 65. Here's the problem: in March

Bruising like crazy.
Has anyone experienced frequent and easy bruising from being on steroids? My lower legs, esp my right leg, are covered with small and one a bit larger bruises. They are not painful and seem to pop up out of nowhere. Can it be the diabetes 2? Boy are they unsightful, along with my two knee surgery

Progesterone: oestrogen ratio
Hi all I recently got my oestrogen and progesterone levels done by medichecks.I was hoping they worked out the actual ratio of oestrogen to progesterone but they don't so now I'm confused. The 2 results are calculated in different values (pmol/L Vs nmol/L) which makes it hard to interpret if one of
