Hi everyone
Thank you in advance for reading my post. As with most of us my journey has been very difficult.
Following a Bilateral Salpingo Oophorectomy last March, which my then consultant (not a endometriosis specialist but I was still very naive about Endo) advised would “cure” my endometriosis, I continued to suffer a great deal of pain and discomfort. After waiting a few months I knew that there was still endometriosis left behind , at this time my consultant was not available for the “foreseeable future” and as I hadn’t had a proper follow up appointment I decided to approach an a Specialist Consultant privately. After speaking with his secretary and explaining my issues, an appointment was made for me to see him. I then had an MRI, which showed rectovaginal Endo, bowel involvement along with Endo on Ureteral Sacral Ligaments and Adenomyosis. So much for being cured. After talking with this consultant I decided to go ahead with a total hysterectomy along with excision surgery, involving a bowel surgeon. I didn’t have private health insurance so self funded this. I had the operation on March 11th and although I’ve had a couple of issues I am recovering quite well. It was definitely a good decision despite the cost.
The last couple of weeks I have had some new vaginal bleeding and pelvic pain. I have seen my gp regarding this, I have a UTI and she has taken swabs to see if there is further infection.
I have been to my follow up with Surgeon today and due to these symptoms he gave me an internal examination, he has told me that I have granulomatous tissue around the cuff sutures and needs to review me in 3 weeks but I may need this removed. He has assured me this can happen and it’s nothing to worry about. I am not overly worried but am curious.
My question therefore is, has anyone else had this or knows anything about it?
Many thanks again if you made it to the end of my post ☺️
