total knee replacement

I had right total knee replacement surgery on 17th September so just over 2 weeks post op now. I was really scared beforehand especially with having to stop Baracitinib a week before. I know everyone is different but I feel so lucky. So far I’ve managed the pain with paracetamol and codiene.

Must admit I am a,bit apprehensive as to what I can do as,had a,total knee replacement in March and it's a,little painful still.

I had a left knee replacement surgery April 10th this year. My right knee is also “bone on bone” from osteoarthritis and I’m dreading getting a second one as its been a rough recovery, and the RLS return has me worried too. 4 months out I’m getting stronger week by week although I’m definitely not

Over the last few years I have been trying to hold off a total knee replacement. (TKR) I was walking more to strengthen my muscles to support my knee and managed to ditch the brace and the crutch. I walked a mile every day for Dementia UK.

I thought this was triggering my severe RLS since I had a total knee replacement in November , 2023. My RLS is off the rail . I want an Iron infusion, but the health group I belong to, does not believe I need this?

Had a total right knee replacement Tuesday. But unfortunately i have bursitis of that hip ( which is usually not troubling) but the operation has upset it big time do finding it difficult to sleep and do exercises. Anyone got any ideas how to manage.

Anyone who has had a total knee replacement had more pain in the hip area than the knee. Having a job to keep my knee straight at night as keep waking up every hour with tremendous pain in the hip and end up getting up and having a walk round. It's inhibiting my physio as well.

I am currently on a waitlist for a total knee replacement (TKR) and have been diagnosed with paroxysmal atrial flutter/atrial fibrillation (AF/AFL).

I had total knee replacement 4 weeks ago, my knee is swollen and my lower leg and foot is is swollen. My skin is very dry in those areas. Obviously, I have swelling because of the surgery but also because of the Lymphoedema so decided to get back to my ritual for Lymphoedema.

The problem is that he now needs total knee replacement for both knees. We have a very long awaited appointment with Neurology nurse in October to discuss the wisdom etc of undergoing the surgery.

19 days post op - been very tough especially when COVID thrown into the mix! My muscle tone wasn’t great pre-op but is now nonexistent. Is it possible to build muscle tone with PMR? Without PMR it’s possible to build good muscle tone with regular exercises but no matter how frequently I do my post op

I have RA, diagnosed at Christmas 2020. I also have buggered knees - I believe that is the correct medical term - that pre-date the RA diagnosis. At my last (final?) RA consultation the consultant showed me a beautiful X-ray of my knees. Nice bones, absent cartilage. He had previously mentioned knee

And I still have to get out and walk for 30 minutes twice or three times every night In March of last year I had a total knee replacement as a result of which I have contracted lymphodema in my left lag and ankle I already had bruised bones in my ankle which made walking painful and difficult

My GP said on Tuesday that even if I had a total knee replacement ( I have been on the list for 8 years and never been well enough or gained too much weight due to inactivity) my pain would not resolve as clearly because the steroids work the issue us inflammatory. I am it seems nobody’s problem.

Hello I would like to thank everyone that was supportive for my total knee replacement. As someone on this site said It’s a 🐻 bear and they were right. I had lots of nerve pain from when I woke up in recovery to now which is 11 weeks.

Fast forward to this week 3 1/2 weeks post total knee replacement and have had niggling chest pains this week, culminating in yesterday having chest pain which g.n.T spray didn't relieve.. Ended up calling ambulance and trip to local A&E. Was a bit concerned about possibility of blood clots.

I’m 6 days post total left knee replacement and struggling! I have no muscle strength to help my rehabilitation. The Physio is expecting me to lift my operated leg up and to bend it but I just haven’t got the physical strength to do so.

I am looking for comments on my decision to delay my total knee replacement until I am either suffering too much pain or my mobility becomes to restricted. I am 71 and suffered from arthritis in both knees for over Forty years. The right one has been the worse, until 2020.
