Progesterone: oestrogen ratio

Hi all I recently got my oestrogen and progesterone levels done by medichecks.I was hoping they worked out the actual ratio of oestrogen to progesterone but they don't so now I'm confused.

The 2 results are calculated in different values (pmol/L Vs nmol/L) which makes it hard to interpret if one of the hormones is dominant.

I'm hoping some of you knowledge people may be able to help

My results are:

Oestrogen 32.3pmol/L (0-507)

Progesterone 0.367 nmol/L (0-4.01)

Although I'm 6 yrs postmenopausal

I have had alot of debilitating symptoms which are getting worse. I'm not on HRT but would consider it

I would be so grateful if anyone could tell me how to interpret my results so i may have an idea of what type of HRT I would need.

Many thanks

🙂 You should discuss this with your GP….you need medical advice about this.

FighterThanks for you reply.

I used that same calculator and converted the unit measurements accordingly but .y result came back with Pg/es

of 13.2 which doesn't make a lot of sense to me

I am not a medical expert but I think anything under 100 indicates estrogen dominance. I would probably think about checking this out with an expect. I’m not sure that you’re GP will have much insight tbh.

FigsterThanks for your reply.

Yes I thought perhaps I may be oestrogen dominant but know that conventional medicine does not recognise the term. It's very hard to make sense of it all when I'm not on HRT.

I may see a functional practitioner about it

Thanks again😊
