Hi everyone, i hope we are all managing to plod along with your day. Ive had bad knee's for year but just put it down to horses when i was younger, riding, mucking out in the freezing temperatures and pouring rain etc but my main thing was showjumping and as you can imagine the strain on my joints.
I had a fall last June and landed on my right knee and the pain was horrendous and my knee swelled like a balloon but i thought it was the fibro making it worse. After a couple of months it would only swell at night but the pain hadn't really got any better so i went to the drs who sent me for an xray and when the results cane back she referred me to the muscoskeletal team. The physio referred me then to the knee surgeon, i was ready for a long wait but had my appointment in March at a private hospital. I was expecting him to be say i was too young at 56 but he said i had cracked my knee cap when i fell and that my knee was really bad with arthritis and he wants to do a complete knee and knee cap replacement. Again I thought i would be in for a long wait but he said it would be done within 6 months and that really threw me. After all the waffling i just wondered if anyone has had this done and if it sent them into a long bad flare because any surgery I've previously has caused a flare but because this is a biggest surgery i will have had ?
Thank you all xxx
