Like you, I was diagnosed with Fibro in 2011, but not told by my GP. I found out on a Pain Management programme (3 weeks' in-patient) in 2015, when the one of the nursing staff realised I didn't know I had more than Arthritis and Spondylosis, and so had no idea I needed to 'manage' multiple conditions.

Welcome to the site no-one really wants to join. It gets a bit sad here sometimes, because we each know what the other is suffering - and empathy hurts, but the friendship and understanding we all gain here is worth it.

I send you a warm, gentle and loving hug,

Dee x

With hindsight I can pinpoint the trigger for my issues that have eventually been labelled as fibro last year …… that was 9 years ago - I hit ‘the wall’ in a powerwalk marathon, thought I was going to die! My friends helped me complete, but I have never really recovered from it. There are good days and bad days and everything in between. I find I have to pace myself, undertake tasks in small steps. Stay hydrated, don’t miss meals. Try and do some sort of exercise each day, stretches, yoga, or whatever you can. I follow a fb page called easy fitness over 50…. Lovely 5 minute videos of various exercises, seated or standing, I just do what I can do, even if just for a couple of minutes. I am waiting to see the msk team, could be months, my knee has had it 😪. It is important to be kind to yourself. There is a lot of good support through this site xx
