Abdominal hysterectomy pain....advice needed
Hi there, I am 5 weeks post abdominal hysterectomy. I had uterus, cervix, fallopian tubes and ovaries out and it was quite a lengthy op. I have been up and down pain wise but not more than expected, however I thought by 5 weeks it would have eased?? It is like a burning pain more on the right side

Waiting for laparascopic Hysterectomy but struggling with womb and bowel symptoms
Hello everyone, I hopefully have a date next month for a laparoscopic Hysterectomy - waiting for confirmation in writing. Have been waiting for nearly 2 years on NHS. I am age 40, living in Scotland. I had none of these Gynae issues until about 3 years ago. Since then, I have had heavy bleeding, cramps

Hi the next installment, I got admitted as planned and the operation went well, the surgeon had to change from keyhole to open surgery as something wasn't quite right so it took a bit longer than expected about 4hrs 30. Woke up in HDU feeling like a double decker bus had run over and to be honest I am

Is hysterectomy my only option?
I was told 12 months ago that I have abcess near ovary and uterus, possibly due to previous infected copper coil. Have had repeated episodes of pelvic pain, hospitalisation, antibiotic treatment. Doctor has now mentioned hysterectomy. I'm waiting for a recent CT scan. Doctor has not mentioned drainage

Pelvic Pain and spotting 9+ years post hysterectomy
Hi my mum had a full hysterectomy following a diagnosis of Stage 1C clear cell OC. 6 months of Chemo followed this. Since treatment and op she has been suffering with what has been described as chronic pelvic pain ever since. She had been told she cannot go on HRT as her cancer was Clear Cell. She

I was diagnosed in July with stage 4 endo/adeno, bilateral endometriomas and a frozen pelvis, large ovarian cysts, enlarged falopian tubes following MRI and various ultrasounds. I have been on prostrop since, while on the waiting list for surgery. Last month I received a call from the endo nurse saying

Hi, I was diagnosed with Adenomyosis and signs of endometriosis in 2019, been on the hysterectomy waiting list for 2 years and now I’m booked for surgery on 5th March. Now it’s getting closer I’m getting nervous and would just like to hear from anyone who’s had a hysterectomy and how the recovery was

After talking with this consultant I decided to go ahead with a
total
hysterectomy
along with excision surgery, involving a bowel surgeon. I didn’t have private health insurance so self funded this.

ivf and endometriosis: gender selection allowed?
Hi, I’m at the stage where I’m thinking about getting a hysterectomy because I just can’t take the pain anymore. The only thing stopping me is children. However, I don’t think I could ever bring a baby girl into the world thinking she could grow up with this condition it would break my heart everyday

Could I have Endometriosis?
Hi, I was diagnosed with PCOS at 21 after years of horrific periods. I had the mirena coil fitted for 6 years. No periods, but did get random crippling pains throughout the month and spotting. Had the coil removed July 2022. For the first 6 months my periods were perfect. On time, one/two days of bleeding

Coming off Prostap & Tibolone?
Hello all. Wondering if anyone could tell me their experience of coming off a course of Prostap (with or without Tibolone/HRT) please? If you’ve been through this, can I ask whether you just stop cold turkey? Or is it done gradually? Do you need to let your gynae know? Or was it just done on your

Debulking and
total

, a lesion on the dome of my liver and some on my diaphragm. They have removed all but a small amount they couldn't reach so I'm currently on 9 weeks of chemo.

Hi I've been on Tibolone since having full hysterectomy 3 years ago, following severe and rapid growing endometriosis. I went through such an ordeal with multiple surgeries in the end and whilst I'm ok and pain free now, it's always in the back of my mind that the endo could come back. I've been prescribed
