Hello everyone, I didn’t know this group existed - I’m on the Couch 2 5k Group from 10 years ago (although I don’t run anymore, I like to think that maybe I still will some day!).
I’m 60 years old and 10 days post-op - total hysterectomy, ovaries, cervix and the sentinel lymph nodes. I had breast cancer 4.5 years ago (lumpectomy and radiotherapy only - very lucky) and have been on tamoxifen since then. Due to finish tamoxifen in July 2024. Apparently the taking of this drug increased my chances of endometrial cancer … and that’s what I had. Stage 1B.
Anyway, I’m out the other side of surgery now and awaiting the histology (?) results of what they took out. I was told that there could be a slight chance I might need radiotherapy and an even slighter chance of chemo. I don’t have an appointment date to discuss results yet.
Well, that’s me in a nutshell. I’m just going to keep an eye on here for now and I’ll report back with my results in case they’re not quite what I’m hoping for but could provide someone else with knowledgeable!

It is tough waiting for results. There is a lot of helpful info on share cancer support.org. Also lots of yoga, meditation (look at the mbc podcasts for those).

Once you receive your pathology reports with immunohistochemistry, identification of type of endometrial cancer and grade (how aggressive it is or isn't) then decisions can be best made about radiation and chemo.
