"I Walked Out One Summer's Morning"
The title though refers when I walked out to a taxi in summer 2020 for day
surgery
. I felt rotten and it turned out I was developing sepsis. Instead of a day in hospital and an angioplasty it became three months and an amputation!

Chemo question
Since my tumor is too large, I can’t have
surgery
yet. I had my first taxol/carboplatin treatment last week. I had an allergic reaction shortly after starting. Then on days 3-6 I had severe sharp pains in my bones in my back and legs that broke through my pain meds.

worried in France
Because I live in France, if you go to the
surgery
and say it’s to do with your heart, they send you straight to A and E. so I don’t want to do this unless I have to. I take Bisoprolol 1.25 mg twice daily and have Flecainide as PIP.

Methotrexate
At a routine drug review at the
surgery
this week the pharmacist said she was surprised I had not been put on Methotrexate. She said if I was put on this it would be instead of the steroids. With all the trouble of tapering the Pred I can’t imagine just dropping it completely.

Complications of Operations with AFIB
Just read a report stating Patients with preexisting atrial fibrillation (AF) have a 31% increased risk of death within 30 days after noncardiac
surgery
compared with matched patients without AF. I guess my hip operation being cancelled would have been easier to accept if this had been explained

6 days post circumcision concerns
I’m not sure if this is just swelling or if there excess skin remaining from the
surgery
. Both concerns I’m hoping will resolve themselves as I continue to heal, but thought I’d ask the question on here in case anyone else has experienced something similar.

I helped a long term sufferer today
Funnily enough she is registered with the same GP
Surgery
as me. Anyway she was complaining that she was always so tired and achy etc and I asked what dosage she was on and she replied 75mcg (which I thought a little low) and I told her she was most likely undermedicated.

Post Op
From the old post, I can really relate the idea of…having the internal being shove and pushed during the
surgery
which thus take time to recover though the external surface wound has gradually heal.

I'm back in the GP
surgery
tomorrow afternoon. Still feeling utterly pants and into my fourth week of this latest respiratory virus. Sinuses are stuffed, coughing is driving me mad, and any get up and go I had has long since got up and gone!

3 Day Ventilation and Sedation After Aortic Valve Replacement?
Has anyone else had a valve replacement
surgery
were they were told they had to be ventilated and sedated for 3 days following
surgery
? Ventilation damages the lungs and those who are ventilated following
surgery
have poorer outcomes according to every single research paper I read on pub, med!

I have extensive
surgery
