New to this pain....update.
So yesterday was my first appointment with a rhumatolagist It was very emotional with tears and anger and as you can guess they have no diagnosis yet. It's obviously not gout she said but here is 3 weeks worth of treatment to trial. She dosnt think it lupus either but not straight forward RA either

Hi, I was given a questionable diagnosis of 'inflammatory arthritis with enthesitis' in Feb and put on Sulphasalazine, then saw another Rheumy end of August and given a steroid injection as my DAS score was 3.28. After the injection, I felt brilliant, took a few days but my pain went down significantly

Rotator cuff injury
I had a rotator cuff injury to my right shoulder about 3 years ago, & I had a steroid injection at my local hospital which cleared it up. The problem seems to have recurred, with the usual pain & discomfort. I`m wondering if having an underactive thyroid would make someone more prone to this kind of

Hi all, after being diagnosed in June I felt my life had stood still. I was full of hope when over the next few months I was started on the triple therapy regime, I felt pretty awful most of the time but kept battling on. Last week my physio took one look at me and got me an emergency appointment with

The steroid kicked in
After your lovely responses to my first post, I called the Rheumatology dept at the hospital and spoke with the nurse who are assured me that can take up to a week for steroid injection to kick in and advised me not to take diclofenac unless I was in a lot of pain. As my pain was more twinges than agony

Just a quick Hello
Morning all I'm a bit nervous doing this as I'm a lad of 30 and just really coming to terms that I have Rheumatoid Arthritis. If you just bear with me I shall explain my story. Back in October 2012 I was 28 and playing football on a Sunday as I always have done, when during the game I was unable to

Newly Diagnosed
Hi All I too am newly diagnosed with RA (October 2014) though my symptoms started in May 2014 and have had a steroid injection in my left hand due to flexor synovitis in the ring finger 6 weeks ago. I was pain free in my left hand 3 days after the steroid injection. However, now the RA has flared

Positive notes
Well, had my first steroid injection in my knee this morning, and wow it has only taken a couple of hours to begin to have some effect, or is that just that the stress of the event and the a.m. meeting with my employer have caused the clouds of fatigue to drift down more effectively and swiftly today

What effect do steroids have?
Hi, hoping for the benefit of your experience. I posted a little while ago to say that I have been diagnosed with possible early RA so the rheumy is attacking it early with MTX. I've done three weeks of it so far, first two weeks on 10mg and this last week on 12.5, with the intention of working up to

Getting a fibro diagnosis
HI I posted a while ago about my chronic pain diagnosis, and that I was going to try steroid injections. I've had problems with neck pain since I was a kid. I'm now 28 and still suffering on a daily basis. After MRIs / x-rays /EMG etc I was diagnosed with chronic neuropathic pain and put on pregabalin

Saline injections
Hello all, I hope you are as well as possible and keeping warm tonight. Has anyone had a saline injection in a spasmed muscle? I've had steroid injections in the site but can't have any more.

Steroid Injections
I saw my Rheumy last week and she confirmed I am having a flare at the moment. She still would like me to go on Methotrexate or Sulphasalazine. I have refused them in the past and still don't want to take them. She said I could have steroid injections, 3 in total a fortnight apart, but she said
