calcium supplement
Was on 10 mg for 9 months, now down to 7 after a year. Heard of calcium supplement being prescribed for some friends (female). Is that something everyone on steroids should be taking?

Tapering Regime while on Kevzara (or other biologic)
I'm in the U.S. getting Kevzara (third injection is this Tuesday i.e. week six). I am grateful I was allowed to try Kevzara after 9 years on prednisone and never being able to get below 5 mg without a flare amongst other reasons. I have tried to look up the tapering regime for attempting a taper with

Help needed
Hi everyone, I've been lurking this forum for some time and thought I'd share my story. I am a 35 year old male; around 5 years ago I noticed muscle loss in my quadriceps and neck. I was worried and saw a neurologist. Various tests have been done. MRIs - All came back normal. EMGs - All came back

Low enough pred to get low cortisol symptoms?
I feel rotten. Am on 6 mgs prednisolone— 4 in am, 2 at night. Bad fatigue esp in early afternoon, resulting in need to nap, shoulders and legs feel weak, no stamina. Losing weight, poor appetite. Besides PMR, have diabetes 2 and a pinched nerve in lower back that means right buttock pain. (getting

Wound healing and Steroid Use
I have been on Prednisone for just over a year. I am down to 10mg and cannot titer down without flare. I am waiting for approval for Kevzara. I have noticed that when I get a small cut or skin abrasion (which is more frequent since my skin is thinner with steroid use) It gets very red and takes a long

Not many embryos - should I undergo reproductive immunology testing?
Hi all, After getting a whopping 32 eggs at egg collection last week, we are down to three day 5 embryos at blastocyst stage. There are a few still developing that my clinic wants to see if they develop into day 6 blasts - but am feeling quite shocked at how huge our drop-off has been. We are sending

Newbie to the group.
I was referred to an physio given
steroid
injections
but still no improvement. They told me I had bursitis in both shoulders but thought that I needed a referral to rheumatology due to the injections not working.

Not a flare
good morning everyone Last week I posted about hip pain and possible flare and asked for advice re steroids. I took the advice of the wise people who replied to me and saw a doctor, he put me on antibiotics and steroids, was obviously far more concerned about the cough and breathlessness. I am so

Prefer pain to steroids!
in 2019 I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia, in 2023 following a dexa I was diagnosed with osteoporosis. Today a rheumatologist told me despite negative blood tests he was pretty certain I have PMR and after further blood tests wants me to start taking prednisone. I chose not to take meds for the osteoporosis

Hi, My husband has drug induced lupus from inflixmab infusions which he was having for Chrohns disease. He has been in hospital twice from the lupus and they suspected the lupus was causing pericarditis. They also suspect he has psoriatic arthritis. He has been on steroids to control the drug induced

Skin ulcers
Hi fellow lupus warriors I have had a wound on my leg for at least 6 weeks that is growing and won't scab or heal. I am not on steroids at the moment (just plaquenil) and don't have any other signs of a possible flare. Has anyone ever had something like this? Is it related to Lupus or just a coincidence

Whoops! I made a boo-boo.
A week ago I visited the rheumatologist, who prescribed reducing Prednisone from 5mg to 4g daily and adding 20mg hydrocortisone. All part of the wean-off steroids.Stupidly, and because I was massively distracted by life circumstances, I didn't take in her instructions properly and reduced overnight

What creams are good for skin thickening? What do you use?
Hi All, I am noticing the scalyness on my hands is going worse and it is going down to my wrist now which is causing the tightening and stiffness around there. Are you using any creams? My rheumatoid doctor hasn't prescribed me nothing yet but suggested iloprast treatment... does that help the skin too
