Persistant cough

hi everyone I haven’t posted for a while it was about my persistant cough. I now have had this cough for over a year now it has gradually got worse over the past few months. Coughing day and night. People come up to me in the street becauthey think I’m choking. My GP has treated me with antibiotics and inhalers with no effect the only thing that stops it for a few weeks is steroids. Chest X-Ray showed only that my lungs looked a bit smaller than usual. The GP can hear crackles at the base of my lungs. I eventually got a ct scan that shows scarring at the base of my lungs this wasn’t there before I started Ruxolitinib. My haematologist will insist it’s not the pills. My GP says it is very unusual for someone like me who has never smoked or worked with asbestos to have lungs like mine and she thinks it my medication causing it and I can’t keep taking steroids.

I picked up a cough before I was diagnosed with (c) and was told it was because I had COVID. I also have a hiatus hernia and the cough makes me sick. told to take gaviscon and will be ok. COVID has a lot to answer for. Hope you get an answer soon.
