Emotional support?
Hi I’m a living donor for my mother for a kidney transplant which is scheduled in five weeks. I am really struggling with methods of support and understanding. It has been an extremely isolating experience for me and I would love to also be able to help others who are having emotional struggles throughout

Be Well Be Strong Be Positive
Hi all. I had my first Ablation back in May 2018 unfortunately didn't work. Back in June 2018. Had AF since 1998. Unfortunately it's back, heading for my 3 pacemaker in 8 years. Getter closer to a Heart Transplant every month. My favourite saying is I can't die yet, I haven't annoyed enough people

Update on previous post but cannot find it 🙄
Update MRI shows no new stroke so going with a flare up of gca. Back up to 20 mg pred daily and feeling loads better. My consultant is going to start me on tocilizumab soon just waiting for appointment. Weird symptoms for a flare and she's still suspicious of tia but hey as she keeps telling me I'm

Parietal cell antibody test
I know I'm repeating myself but want to be clear. Is it correct that if you test negative for this it's reliable? I've not had the intrinsic factor test. I'm asking as I'm getting the vibe as one year in now the surgery want to decrease my B12 injections. B12 was put on my latest blood form after

Go appointment for liver damage
Well got my husband to have a blood test and he got a phone call for an immediate doctors appointment. He has advanced cirrhosis and ascites but will not give up drinking and does not want a liver transplant. What can I get his doctor to do for him? He has an appointment already next week with the consultant

Kidney transplant patient
Hi I just received my blood test results. All good but I notice my platelet count is down from 250 to 180. Still within safe levels. Should I be concerned Normal levels are 150 to 450

And so it begins!
Well here we go I am just beginning the tests to qualify for a Liver transplant under the VA system. It does not guarantee you a liver and you must still wait till you are at or near the top of the list, But it does determine if the VA will consider you for a transplant.
