Liver transplant Assessment – Alcohol-related Liver Disease.
I’ve been thinking about writing about this for some time, so here goes. As anyone who has been there before will tell you, the liver transplant assessment can be not only a life changing/saving opportunity, but also very anxious time for not only the hopeful recipient but also for the carer too. Hi everyone. I haven’t been on here for quite a while. I first joined this group 3 years ago when I was listed for my transplant. The forum provides so much support and love to people who understand what people are going through and been through which is what it’s all about. I had my liver transplant

Recently went to outpatient center for depression and anxiety due to chronic pain. Now have additional pain and depression is severe again🙁
I’m not sure how to even explain the depth of my depression. My path down this dark whole began about July 2015 when my Dad had quadruple bypass. Then soon after I got my first diagnosis of HPV. By December I started having severe bleeding in my urine and had emergency surgery. Was diagnosed with rare

Stem Cell research or is it now Frankenstein reborn
Time to move on from my last post. Those who have been interested in my previous post into Stem Cell research will be astounded by this latest revelation. In my last post on this subject I mentioned how it was hoped that liver transplants may one day become a thing of the past, and that with future stem

Goodbye "snoutie"
It is a shame that within our society, there are those who sadly carry a personal bitterness towards others. I, like so many others joined this site so I could hopefully reach out and offer help, support and advice to others by calling upon my own personal experience, medical knowledge, and life age

Post transplant 5 mos no energy
I am the only careprovider of my husband who received a kidney transplant over 5 months ago. First 2 months were great, and then problems arose and all is fine now except for low hemoglobin. I give him "Procrit" 3X a week by injection (he shakes so badly is reason for he gives 4X a day insulin shots

Prednisone/corticosteroids
Hello. Anyone reading this who had a kidney transplant and is NOT taking prednisone or other corticosteroids as part of their anti-rejection meds? I've been hearing/reading about the possibility of going steroid-free and I'm considering raising the possibility with my doctor. (I currently take tacrolimus
