DAO Supplement + Lung Transplant.
Hello, I realise this is going to be a very strange post, but this is stress that this is a genuine question / request, I may need a lung transplant in the near future. Nothing is set in stone yet, but it's a possibility. I haven't been in contact with a transplant team yet or anything. One possible

Struggle after transplant
Hi all,My partner had a liver transplant on 25/02/2024. The surgery was a bit more complex from an anurysm but went well. Unfortunately he was taken back into surgery less than 24 hours later due to a leaking artery which was thankfully treated. He was out of ITU two days later. Four days later he experienced

Lung Transplant + Fermented Foods
Hello, I have a question for lung transplant recipients: are you allowed to eat anything fermented? I may need a transplant in the near future, but I have a histamine problem which is controlled with antihistamines and DAO tablets. The problem is that the DAO tablets are essentially fermented peas

Any experience with pregnancy after kidney transplant?
hi everyone, I had my kidney transplant in April 2022 and have been given the green light by my nephrologist and transplant team that I am able to go ahead with a pregnancy. Having been through a lot medically including a bilateral nephrectomy prior to transplant, I am overwhelmed at the possibility

Failing kidney transplant
Has anyone over 70 had the experience of a long term transplant failing. What treatment were you offered and is it feasible to expect some form of dialysis?

Zicam post kidney transplant
I am a post kidney transplant patient. Does anyone know if Zicam homeopathic is safe to use? I was told a while back that zinc in a multivitamin was fine. But, most of the Zicam products now I’ve come across are homeopathic ingredients, not just zinc. Looking into for cold.

Three Times Kidney Transplant Recipient: "Third time's the charm."
In 1995, Lisa Myers noticed a mysterious swelling in her feet and ankles. Little did she know that this symptom would mark the beginning of a challenging journey–one that led to a kidney disease diagnosis, ten years on dialysis, and two failed kidney transplants. This is her story as a three-time kidney

Prednisone for treatment of AIG
I've just been started on Prednisone or Prednisolone, immunosuppressant steroids, for treatment of Autoimmune Gastritis/autoimmune PA. This has recently, within the last few years been shown to possibly heal AIG, although not entirely cure. It is also used to prevention immune system rejection of organ

NICE: Teprotumumab for treating thyroid eye disease ID 6432 - being scoped
I have just noticed a new NICE guideline has been started. Only a skeleton at present - in the guideline scoping state. It will probably be years before it is completed. It is good that it has been selected for further work but must be devastating for anyone suffering TED to see how far away this (potential

How to improve your blood pressure
I have recently fallen in love. With capillaries. In his brilliant book, ‘The Secret Language of Cells’, Dr John Leif, physician and neuroscientist, dedicates a whole chapter to them, calling these tiny vessels, ‘brain centres’ of tissue development. With a yogic lens, this speaks to the body intelligence

Polyneuropathy.
I treat my polyneuropathy with B6 and B12. GracePV shared their experience with B6, B12 nd B1. This inspired me to revisit my self treatment of my polyneuropathy. I came across information about Benfotiamine which is similar to Thiamine Hydrochloride and Thiamine Nitrate. There are indications

Kidney transplant
I had a kidney transplant nearly 3 years ago. I would like to treat my hair to a wash-in dye, the type that washes after about 6 weeks but I'm not sure this will be OK due to the anti rejection drugs I'm taking. Any advise would be welcome

My husband had kidney transplant about 3 months ago. Wanted to reach out to you if you had an excessive urination , frequency , urgency and incontinence up to this time. It seems like he urinates most at night I would say what he had drunk during the day ..

Kidney transplant assessment
Hi I have stage 5 failure. My GFR IS 10. I had my first kidney transplant in May 1995. This will be my second. I am meeting the transplant surgeon, nephrologist and anaesthetist this Wednesday. They will let me know if I am suitable to go back on the transplant list. I am really really nervous and scared
