My Angina Story - 2024
I'm now taking a couple of
statins
and asprin each day; the pain is not so sharp but not gone. I will give it more time. I've been left feeling confused because despite good Cholesterol and Calcium score, I still have a narrowing artery.

A few developments - anybody got similar
Firstly I am on
statins
since last Thursday, I am fit, I get out, eat a low carb/high fibre diet but my cholesterol is around 7 so it just shows you. No after effects yet. Secondly it looks might I may need to go back onto steroids, not Prednisolone but Hydrocortisone.

should I start interferon?
I was put on
statins
four/ five months ago because of a slightly raised cholesterol test. Since starting it I’ve noticed some strange joint issues, particularly in my fingers. They are sore and I have the symptoms of ‘trigger finger’ in my index finger of both hands.

Running with angina
I’ve medication now - on lowest dosage of Elantan - an isosorbide mononitrate, aspirin And now on
statins
as the only indication apart from the MPI scan is high cholesterol coming in at 7.5 . I’m desperate to return to activity as it’s what keeps me together on every level .

I am on 20mg of atorvastatin and I understand that's not good for RLS. I'm sure I've read in the past that there is a statin that is ok for us sufferers but can't remember the name. Could anyone help with that please.

Hi all I've just joined the group and look forward to any advice and support that is offered. I have angina.
I have 2 stents in the right coronary artery and despite being on
statins
since 2011 am experiencing rising cholesterol. I have been referred to the lipid clinic. Various doses and types of
statins
have caused awful side effects so It has been suggested by the gp that we discuss the injections.

Leg Pain
I stopped taking
statins
for a while and that allowed me to run again ok but I still have achy and sore muscles. It’s mainly hamstrings but a bit in my calves. Doesn’t seem to be exercise related as I can get it in bed as well Anyone else have this?

Under active thyroid & taking statins
I told her I was surprised as I have a really good diet & watch what I eat, she said it may be down to my under active thyroid and mentioned prescribing
statins
. I told her I need to do some research first & came across this site. There are a few posts re cholesterol/
statins
& many mention T3.
