Utterly confused.......
The meds prescribed were Metformin and
Statins
. Looking at ways to reverse it, the information is opposite to what SN was. With SN, it was natural food only, no processed, so real cheese, butter, cream, full-fat Greek yogurt - all correctly portioned out of course.

Medication after HA
Now I've said that, I had a STEMI aged 53, and have spoken to the doctors and cardiologist and they said I will have to stay on the beta blockers, anti blood pressure,
statins
for life.

waiting for a diagnosis
I have been on
statins
for years as most of my relatives have died young of heart attack and stroke. My sister had to have a heart bypass in her 50’s. Ecg was abnormal so they referred me to cardiology clinic.

Looks Like My Cholesterol Is High, Yikes
I'm sure my GP will eventually get the report and be urging me to go on
statins
which I'll be declining. Will the fact I'm on T4/ T3 combi help. T3 cant make cholesterol worse can it? Very alarmed.

Exercise with mitral regurgitation
The medication is
statins
, blood pressure pills and aspirin. I have had a healthy diet since my first stroke. My question is exercise. I usually run 4-5 Miles three times a week ( a Papworth consultant put in my notes I ran 45 miles three times a week) .

BP Still too high. Meds include, Ramapril. Bisoprolol. Sertraline. Omeprazole.
Statins
have been suggested, but we decided to see if we could bring that down with changes to lifesyle at first. I did have a reading of 7.3 twently years ago however. So these levels are pretty much unchanged. Any advice on what may work to get my BP down from anyone with a similar experience?

Started Interferon
He thought it was most probably caused by the
statins
so I will pick up a different prescription tomorrow and see if that has an impact on the joint stiffness and the ‘pinging’ sensation in my fingers.

Atorvastatin and Ibrutinib
I have put a question into my haematology team as to the acceptability of Atorvastatin, I know certain
statins
should not be taken with Ibrutinib.

No health issues before diagnosis, now everything is a little scary
Had call re
statins
and have refused. Today , I had to attend hospital , I get anxious and suffer from white coat hypertension. Anyways , it was sky high. Took again straightaway and it was even higher ( top figure by 30!) . So now talk of 24 hour monitor, medication etc.

The 2nd cardiologist I saw said there are no good research studies that show
statins
prevent clots, only lowers cholesterol. I'm so confused & don't want to be on a statin if I don't need to. Any thoughts? I'm in my upper 60s and was diagnosed with PV over 3 years ago.

The clinic letter prescribing the extra
statins
and beta blockers has still not arrived with gp and appointment was 3 weeks ago! Also on waiting list for angiogram. My worry is that my chest pain doesn’t seem to come on after walking or exercising but when I am at rest.

Post heart attack
He had recent blood tests as he is on 85mg
statins
, so he has annual checks but results came back with kidney disease, very concerning although GP has said that on a scale of 1 - 10 his kidneys were working at 7 which isn’t concerning, again we’re not sure .
