Initial consultation
Had my 1st appointment and was told we would definately qualify for ivf, most likely icsi. Very excited after all these years to be starting our journey :) back on tuesday to sign consent forms. Can't believe its finally happening!! Doctor said would be 3 months minimum which is great. I expected it

Buying items for a baby we don't have...
So when we first started trying in 2014 we were both incredibly excited about the thought of having a baby, and slowly but surely started oohing and aahing over the baby clothes and little items we loved and would buy.... we'd pick up a little something every now and then only when they were in the sales

Got a job!
Good morning everyone. After much deliberation & trying I have managed to get a part time job, hurrah! Not really prepared to put my life constantly on hold for IVF, feeling like I'm just sitting at home twiddling my thumbs. The only thing is, after much dawdling by the doctors, we have actually now

When do you just give up and sort your career out?
Hi, we've recently had a bfn after an icsi cycle. It hit quite hard as it had reminded me how much we wanted to be parents. We're having a short break before going for our 2nd NHS funded cycle which we've decided to do because I'm not getting any younger and we kind of just want to know where we are

HSG
Hi All, how is everyone doing today? I have my HSG exam on Friday and was just wondering if anyone has any tips or suggestions in relation to this? I've read up about the procedure but was just wondering if any of you ladies who have been through it have any words of wisdom. I am due to have ICSI Summer

No fertilisation
Thank you for everyone who wished me luck. Of the three viable eggs collected yesterday, unfortunately none have fertilised overnight. The hospital have said they will keep an eye throughout the day but it is quite certainly bad news. I have been give no reason as to why yet and don't know if I will

En Route to ICSI Cycle 2: I need to vent!
Hi guys. I got a letter through from my clinic last week encouraging me to call them on the first day of my next period - potentially the end of this month if they have room for me, or the end of next if they don't. I'm not even sure if I'm ready or not to go through this again, but I feel like my life

Pretty sure that it's over... again!
So I'm on 10dp3dt and I've started bleeding. I'm devastated. This is our second icsi treatment and I really thought we'd have a good chance this time. The only thing that is giving me some glimmer of hope is that I don't have any cramps (yet), but I feel they are soon on their way. It's too late for

Throwing this out there
So I have a tendency to overthink things and get myself in a tiz over nothing so I'm just wondering if people have opinions. The fertility tests before all of this showed that my DH's swimmers were the reason for our unsuccessful 3.5 years of trying - not quite enough of them, those that were there

DE transfer 5 day blastocyst BFN:( Anyone know how I can get tested for NK cells or have any suggestions on what I can do differently?
I had a DE transfer 2 weeks ago and this morning did my test which was again a BFN. Previously I have had 3 ivf attempts using ICSI and my own eggs. The 3rd attempt it did work briefly only to fail almost a week after when my period came along. I guess I am asking if anyone has any suggestions to what

Worst EC I've had 😪
I went in today for my EC. I had a scan on Monday which showed 7 follicles, another on Wednesday which showed 1 had disappeared, 2 had stopped growing leaving me 4 big ones. We were told the devastating news that they only got 1 this morning. That news felt like a massive punch in the guts, I'm totally

Blood spotting after ET
So I had my ET yesterday afternoon and since then I've been spotting. It is quite mild and only noticeable when I wipe after peeing (apologies if tmi). Has anyone else had this? This is my second icsi treatment and the first time round I didn't have any bleeding at all, however, now I bled for 36

Feeling Philosophical
Hello Everyone, I hope everybody's day is going well wherever you are in your IVF process. So we just finished our first and one and only allotted NHS IVF cycle and my 2WW ended yesterday with a bfn. I was pretty upset, but not surprised. Our embryos were slow to develop and the consultant was pretty

And now for the private sector
So first appointment at private clinic today another one at a different clinic next week. Felt positive. Consultant felt our 2nd cycle was much better and shouldn't consider donor eggs just yet. Got a good feel from her and clinic in general and that they were not solely after our money!! She recommends

Baby doppler?
Hello everyone Although I am 10 weeks and 5 days in my pregnancy now done through ICSI but I am still very paranoid especially I have just been told by my partner that his mate's fiance just lost their fetus. I remember she's 5 months in her pregnancy. This sad news made me even more paranoid and anxious

Exercise & ICSI
Afternoon all, myself and DH signed our consent forms on Friday with a private clinic in Glasgow as BHS were taking way too long! Anyway, it was mentioned about cutting back or cutting out exercise, I currently go to the gym 4 times a week, squat & deadlift with 60kg & everything else is weight based
