Still no treatment (UK)
Hi Everyone In my last post I thought my partner was about to start treatment, but after a 10 minute consultation at Kings he was told he seems to be managing without ( despite meeting the criteria for treatment) and the next appointment was put out 5 months. Since then his blood results have arrived

Shingles?
Has anyone gotten Shingles along with their ITP? What did this do to your platelets? Mine drop drastically if I even get a cold, and am considering getting the Shingles vaccination, but I understand this is only partially effective. Any comments would be helpful - thanks!

INFLUENZA!
I have it. Had to cancel my trip to Sweden. feel VERY sorry for myself. BUT things could be way way worse. I had the flu shot and am hoping for a lighter case. I am thinking that the prednisone made me susceptible to the flu but that it now will HELP my lungs with the inflammation and coughing! a double

Here I Humbly come - Shingrix
Two weeks ago I got the Shingrix
vaccine
for
shingles
. One week ago, I woke up with cog fog. Oh, that dreaded familiar feeling.....😠. Fatigue has started to rear it's head and now I'm having trouble breathing well. Off for an MRI next week and a fluoroscopy sniff test. Anyone ever had one?

Shingles vaccine
My GP is recommending I get the
shingles
vaccine
. I thought I had read that PMR (which I have) can be a side effect of the vaccine. I am asking what you think.

A change for the better at last.
Hi friends, went to have another Cystoscope yesterday, the good news was that the doctor saw no new tumour. So recommended for me to start the BCG treatment, which will be done at the Churchill Hospital in Oxford. So hopefully I can tolerate it. As there is no alternative, for me as my heart is not up

Should I pay for a shingles vaccination.
At 68 and 66 my partner and I are too young to qualify for a NHS shingles vaccination. I'm due for investigation and a possible touch up ablation on the 11th Feb and am considering paying for us to be vaccinated privately to avoid the possible risks associated with a bout of shingles. My partner has

Shingles!
Can anyone tell me about avoiding people with shingles please. My friend was diagnosed with shingles in November shortly gave up the painkillers as they didn’t suit her and says that the pain is much less. She has invited me to the cinema tomorrow, is it safe to go??? Thank you in advance for any reply

Flu Shot
My doctor always encourages me to get a flu shot every year...and I get one. Does anyone else get a flu shot annually?

After my Bladder Cancer diagnosis, along with CIS and having had 3 years of BCG, it was nothing compared to how friends and relatives reacted. To say I was ostracized is an understatement. After informing those who knew me, the emails and telephone calls stopped. It was though I had an infectious disease

PMR disappeared overnight
I was diagnosed with PMR 15 months ago and put on 30mg and tapered weekly down to 10mg. Last December I had a flu jab and developed a nasty cough and cold but overnight my PMR has gone! I have continued taking 3mg of prednisone day but a week ago dropped down to 2.5 and have since experienced hot flushes
