diverticulitis incontinence
Diverticulitis hot of nowhere. I fell down the stairs, was life flighted to UH main Campus, and had multiple Harkin’s procedures. Gutted thrice, like a catfish. I’ll be with ostomy for rest of my life. It’s been 40 days. Weak as a kitten I’m just in to rehab but still draining. They equipped me

my story
I started on cobalamin injections pre Covid then when lockdown arrived was put on Tablet form which remained until last July when a retired Doctor in our practice noticed I’d been requesting to be given B12 injections once more. I’d gone for a different reason but I felt so well by next day it convinced

Surgery Today!
I’m having spinal surgery today in my neck. So glad it’s finally happening but rather nervous too. I have cervical stenosis and myelopathy so I’m hoping this operation will stop the progression of spinal cord damage 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻. Has anyone else had this happen. Not sure if it’s RA related or not.

Small hernia
I have Stage 3 low grade ovarian cancer and had debulking surgery 18 months ago. I got over the surgery very quickly and have been very lucky with no recurrence so far. Yesterday I saw my Oncologist who said she had found a small hernia but I should carry on as normal but avoid heavy lifting. I’m

cataract surgery and prednisolone dose
This morning I had my eyes tested. This time last year I was told I had the beginnings of a cataract in my left eye, due to prednisolone. Today I was told that, thanks to prednisolone, the cataract is now ready for surgery. I said I didn't want it yet, because I am trying to get my prednisolone dose

Bevacizumab v Niraparib
I've had chemo/debulking surgery/ chemo, and have just come to the end of the post surgery chemo. I've been told all along that I will continue with Bevacizumab as a maintenance treatment (I've had 3 rounds of it alongside chemo, 2 before the surgery and 1 after). I caught COVID towards the end of

Swollen ankles after periodontal surgery
Had some minor gum & bone surgery to prepare tooth for a crown & subsequently have swollen ankles, making it difficult to walk. Asked the periodontal surgeon if inflammation from procedure is causing RA ankle swelling/flare & he says, "Coincidental". Rheum says any injury, infection, stress

Proud of my little pink line showing T3 prescribed by NHS 😁
I've put my surgery on the T3 prescribing graph 🎉 and hopefully started a learning curve for them!! They have 3 surgeries which cover a 15 mile radius and 10,000 patients... yet I'm the only one that needs T3??? Really!! This little line denotes 28 items this year about to become 34 as I request my

Praise for GP surgery for once

Well I have had a very bust couple weeks. Helped out at work in the cold and Xmas on the way and to top it my daughter in law was rushed into emergency surgery. So food has been the last thing to worry about. Hospital food isn't that healthy surprisingly. You would think that they would have some access

Bowel or endometrioma pain?
Hi I'm hoping someone can shed a bit of light on my pain. I have endo in lots of places in POD on ligaments and my bowel.I also have a 5cm endometrioma. I am down for surgery for hysterectomy as I have adenomyosis and endo extraction. I've opted out of a bowel resection as the waiting list is longer

Open Heart Surgery Groups
Hi there. I live in Brighton and I recently had open heart surgery (at The Royal Brompton in London) Does anyone know of any support groups for people who have been through similar surgery. I am in my 40s but would love to have people to chat to of any age who have been through the same thing. Thank

Tubular Adenomas
Hi. I wasn't sure if I should start a new post for this, or just add to my post in Oct/Nov, so I decided to do both. I hope that's okay. I had my colonoscopy two weeks ago. Results were: - internal hemorrhoids - diverticuli - polyps (I don't know size and how many until I see my dr next week

Treatment for severe OCD
I've undergone surgery for my bad OCD. It helped quite well. I know the FDA has accepted the newer operation type, Deep Brain Stimulation, to offer us, OCD sufferers. I don't exactly know what it is said about DBS in FDA's guidelines, but they consider this surgery as an exception if no other method

My Latest Blood Test Results - Any Advice would be much appreciated ?
Following my last Blood Test results which was taken on the 16.10.23 - despite a T4 being requested by the GP only a TSH was done. Prior to this the consultant wanted me to decrease my Thyroxine from 100mcg to - 100mcg on one day and 75mcg the next - alternating ongoing. I declined to do
