I have visited and enjoyed all that this forum has offered during my main cardio based issues.
Those who know my story know that whilst undergoing extensive OHS, or more to the point - after surgery, I was to suffer a variety of complications from which anyone should have prevented my survival. Sadly, those complications left me with some fairly debilitating disabilities that changed my life beyond recognition.
One of the areas in which my life was to change would be memory - or as it now is, lack of memory. I was initially able to remember much about my time in hospital and outpatient check ups, but sadly - my memory is such that my recollection of events are detailed on this forum or in my personal journal. With that in mind, I find it has become pointless me being a member on this forum, because I just struggle to remember my experience or information that would have been useful to others.
I will be deleting my account soon, and would just like to say a big thank you to all those who have provided answers and support during time here, and wish all current and new members the very best in their current/ future treatment.
whilst I am a newcomer to this forum and don't know about your history it made me sad reading your post, I wish you the best and hope that anyone who has followed your journey can learn from it and get some inspiration from your bravery.
I remember you and your History and I am so sad to hear you are going to leave
I totally understand that with your memory it is hard to contribute with support but so many members just prefer to read others posts and comments which is what we can do if we want to we do not have to contribute so just to say if by reading posts and comments still help you then I hope you will stay
If not though I understand and I wish you all the best and thank you for sharing your experiences you went through with us x
I'm sorry to hear about your loss of memory and how it's affecting you, it must be incredibly frustrating to deal with daily.I'm not surprised that you may not want to look in on the forum or feel that you can contribute in those circumstances , it's not just that you feel that you can't recollect things to help others but must also cause you upset that you can't recollect them.
You can do without that sort of negativity and your time is far better being spent sharing the memories that you do have with your loved ones while you can.
You have fought so bravely with all you have been through with courage and reading your post today and then your bio I found it incredibly sad.I hope as you continue with your journey you will know that many people are grateful for the support and advice you have given over time.
You will be in my thoughts and prayers as you go forward , blessings and hugs.
Sad to hear that your surgery did not produce a better outcome..we all wish you a miracle and a recovery in your memory...but mostly just wish you a comfortable future...with enough of that memory to be at home with your loved ones and still enjoy what you can..God Bless you every day anew..after reading your bio..it seems like you got everything that should never happen..sepsis is so hard to clean up...but you survived that..the stroke was tough..and am thinking that is the one that may be causing the memory loss that you experience now...am very sad that these things happened to you..we are probably not allowed to place blame ..but sepsis does not happen by itself..and causes intake of very strong antibiotics with side effects..but now is now the time for that..it is now time to try to reapair what we can and hope for the best...and I do wish you many happy years ahead
Hi Brand, sorry to see you leaving. I too don't contribute much. But for my mental wellbeing I find it's important to stay as atleast I am not alone I read lots of posts that have similar situations. Best of luck for the future. My hubby's memory is also not so great as he had a stroke June 21. So I understand your frustration.
Hi, your post is so honest, open and thoughtful. Its awful what you have been through and are still going through. You have contributed to the forum and will have helped many people but it sounds like it is your time to move on.
I really wish you well and dearly hope you will find support from another group or forum forbthe next stage of your life. Sending strength & good wishes.
