eosinophilia and nasty chest cold
everything has been good for a year now. I have been prescribed another bio - Tezzy which has been life savingly wonderful. I have reduced steroids and consultant is hopeful of elimination soon. Energy levels have really improved too. So, in the last two days I have nosedived. I put this down to cold

succumbed with guilt and what if….
Hello friends I don’t know why I am posting, maybe to get advice from people who understand but my dear father lost his battle 2 weeks ago due to sepsis and pneumonia. I took him A&E 4 days before and they completed tests and discharged him saying he just had a cough infection and provided him with

Tinnitus fades after noise exposure
Hello all, hope you’re doing ok! I’ve had low frequency tinnitus for 18 months or so, some days better than others. One thing I’ve noticed is that my tinnitus almost entirely disappears after I’ve been in loud environments. I was at a gig on Monday and I forgot my loop earplugs and for 3 days and nights

Covid is lasting a long time this time round
Today I’m day 16 of testing strong positive. I caught covid visiting my hubby in hospital. I wore a mask when I visited and sanitised my hands but still caught it. My GP thinks I’ve had 2 strains as I’ve had 2 lots of symptoms. I visited the hospital on the Saturday afternoon, hubby was told that evening

Leflunomide and tapering. Update on flare this Summer
I posted in late July about getting into a yo-yo situation trying to control a flare of PMR and got excellent advice from DL which sorted it out. I've been on 3.5mg ever since (I was at 2mg when the flare started). I've tried using DSNS taper. But the PMR isn't ready to cooperate yet!On Monday I had

AF back 6 days after Covid vacc
I'd been in NSR for over 3 1/2 years following a cardioversion after 9 months of persistent AF, but I woke for the loo at 3.30am on Monday and found I was back in AF - which is so far persisting. Sigh! My first thought about the trigger was that I was dehydrated. We were staying with friends, and

It Had To Happen!! Covid-19 Strikes!
It has been 18 months since I completed my CLL Obinutuzumab plus Venclexta treatment protocol. I was in remission. I have had four Covid-19 vaccinations and two Evusheld vaccinations over that time. So, last week is the first time I ventured into the public transportation system in 2-1/2 years. I

Lisinopril, A-Fib enlarged left atrium,
I was taking Diltiazem 60 mg 12HR ER Cap 2 times a day for A-fib and hypertension. I stopped it as doctor recommended when I had to take Paxlovid for Covid. I didn't get A-fib when I didn't go back to taking the Diltiazem and have been off of it for more than 2 months. I'm thinking of taking Lisinopril

Pfizer vaccination and AF
I had a Covid Vaccination on Monday which I think triggered the longest attack of AF I have had for ages. I am ok now but very washed out. Has the Covid vaccine caused palpitations fo anyone else? Not having a vaccine again!!

positive round of icsi
so after testing positive since 4dp5dt, called my fertility team and they have me booked in for a 7 week scan the first week of March. So would be roughly 5wks5days pregnant at the minute but can’t help but notice the absence of any signs/symptoms of pregnancy. Other than sensitive boobs which could

Afib during Covid follow up
Two weeks ago, I came down with symptoms of Covid. It was not that bad, and I seem fully recovered. During the first week, I had two separate episodes of Afib. One seemed in response to a burst of coughing while sleeping and waking short of breath, but the other came on for no apparent reason. My cardiologist

Here we go again!
At my last hospital appointment in February I asked the consultant about his thoughts on masking still and he suggested that as we are having to live with it and the current variants are not serious for most people maybe relaxing with caution or words to that effect. I was happy with that and have enjoyed

Shingles jab
I may be the last person to know this, but.......having been told to avoid the shingles jab as it contained a live virus, I've just been told that the NHS no longer use live virus vaccines, so it's safe for MPN patients. I have now had my first shot👍
