I was taking Diltiazem 60 mg 12HR ER Cap 2 times a day for A-fib and hypertension. I stopped it as doctor recommended when I had to take Paxlovid for Covid. I didn't get A-fib when I didn't go back to taking the Diltiazem and have been off of it for more than 2 months.
I'm thinking of taking Lisinopril instead form my blood pressure since I read that it may improve an enlarged Atrium as well. I'm really not sure if that is true though.
I've only had 2 episodes of A-fib in the past and that was when I overate and the other time was when I was stressed.
I also have left bundle branch block which may contribute to A-Fib and slightly enlarged left Atrium. My blood pressure seems to be better since I lost a few pounds after I had Covid. Losing the weight was the only good thing about Covid, LOL.
Does anyone take Lisinopril and have a-fib or enlarged Atrium as well?

Above is a good review of left atrium enlargement. Note that treatment involves treating the condition that caused it.
Best to discuss with your doctor the best medications and treatment for your condition. Do you have a device or has the doctor recently monitored your afib with a medical device to verify your condition ? Afib can be silent.
I have been in persistent afib for close to 2 years. Take Lisinopril, Metoprolol, Eliquis and thus far left atrium is normal. (fingers crossed).
Thank you for your reply. I have an Apple watch that can let you know if you have A-fib. It showed A-fib the last time I had it. It is thought my hypertension caused it. I know the A-fib happened after I overate. I think overeating was making my heart work too hard.
I was able to feel my heart beating up to 145 then down to 80's with the A-fib. I don't think I ever had a silent A-fib. I went to the ER and they gave me Diltiazem through an IV and that brought it back to normal in about 2 hours.
I don't have any atrial enlargement but do have LBBB and take, not lisinopril, but losartan. I don't have high blood pressure, either, and was prescribed losartan by a cardiologist who explained that there was good evidence that it was cardio-protective over the long term (i.e. essentially meaning, that it protects the left atrium). I have read widely around this aspect and it seems to be true both of losartan and of lisinopril so, in your case, I imagine it's well worth sticking with just the lisinopril.
I was told that LBBB most often won't lead to any problems, but, having said that, whenever I ask my GP about my palpitations, ectopic beats, occasional AF or any of the other symptoms I feel... he blames the LBBB! I have read that enlargement of the heart can reverse, for example, losing weight will achieve this, but whether an enlarged left atrium can return to normal, I don't know.
