Information on Acute Myeloid Leukaemia
After PV for many years , Myelofibrosis for two years , I now have AML. On Ruxolitinib and EPO injections I’m having panic attacks, it seems no treatment is available apart from transfusions. Is anybody else in a similar situation, and how are you managing.

Pork fried rice & LDH level of 277
Well, since I am three years past my expiration date, And I have never had my LDH level testing, this level of 277 that I have does not seem that bad. Normal range is 135 to 225 according to my chart. Some other things I read said normal range was up to 280. Having four times the normal range means

1yr 3 months Sober but still Scared
I’m a 38 year older female that has always been thin and in shape. I started heavily drinking around the age of 24. It started off slowly. Bartending and waitressing was my occupation of choice back then. Mostly because you were almost encouraged to drink while working at the places I worked. I took

Hi ladies Hope you are all keeping well. This is an iron based question, but its a bit long winded. 1) I m still waiting for an MDT to be do for my 3rd lap, to see what would best route long term, has the specialist was quite happy to operate with less then half the info. 2) I've been experiencing

The Role of Novel Agents in Treating CLL-Associated Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia (AIHA)
J. Clin. This paper looks at the role of novel agents in treating AIHA and suggests that BTKi's

Another update on 5th heart surgery….
Ok, well I’ve now been here for almost 2 weeks and hoping to be discharged today. Thought I’d give a bit more of a comprehensive update (although don’t want to scare anyone!) Quite a few problems with various levels (INR, potassium and hemoglobin) which has lead to several blood transfusions and potassium

well....(deep subject)... my PSA has gone up (again) and is now ALMOST 1000. It's 980.0 My platelets having dropped to 6,000. I was prepared to argue with my oncologist about doing the chemo (Jevtana) that she has me scheduled for again on Thursday...but, alas... there was no argument. She concurred

Impact of surgery, signs of over medication
Hi, I've just had fairly major surgery to remove a very large fibroid from the outside of my uterus, a myomectomy. It was 30cm and 4.5kg, so quite a life-changing procedure and thankfully it went well. I did lose a lot of blood so had to receive two units in transfusion; also the incision on my abdomen

Update for 5th valve replacement surgery
Well, I’m through the worst and now back on the high dependency ward. Have a few wound issues as it wouldn’t stop bleeding which meant a couple of blood transfusions but they were able to go in through my side so that was a relief. Woke up only 3 hours after the surgery with minimal pain. Had chest drains

Palliative care - medications and routine

Can't stop bleeding. Please help!
Please, please help! I have pcos and trying to conceive but have been bleeding heavily for 80-90% of the past year. I had polyps removed which they thought would stop it but it didn't work. I also had three blood transfusions because my hemoglobin went down to 59 when it should be around 120. My doctor
