UPDATE! from last post. RE: Fibro Scan
So yesterday I had the Fibro Scan completed. It put me in such joy to view this liver. At a young age of 17 I needed a Blood transfusion a very very long time ago. We can only assume that is how I contracted HEP C. After about 25 years I discovered what I had and was shocked. Well fast forward In

Prostate pain - xtandi/Xofigo & spot radiation
Hi all, just wanted to check if anyone would have any idea as to why Dad's prostate area is sore. He went to do a few minutes on his Excercise bike last week and said the pain in his prostate area was bad, he is getting up more frequently to pee at night (no pain but dribbles) and then today she said

Resurrection of Hepatitis B
I have been diagnosed with CLL for 7 years (Now stage C) and was about to start Chemotherapy (BTK inhibitor). I had a short illness with Hepatitis B in 1975 (while working in a clinical virology lab in an HBV high-risk environment). This cleared within 2 weeks. 20 years later I received HBV vaccine.

Thanks, this is why I'm here
I'd like to thank fellow members for sharing their knowledge on iron usage and storage. I was scheduled for a transfusion today, if I became more anemic. After the discussion, I came to the conclusion that iron supplements wouldn't lead to too high a blood concentration, and took them over the past week

Living with a Diagnosis
I'm new to this and was trying to respond to a post by... Jaynelovestotravel ...but everytime I tried I found I was restricted!! I don't know how to resolve this so let's hope this works. I've had a number of complex respiratory problems for many years and it is perhaps fortunate that I routinely attended

And another ER visit and hospital stay
Jeff went back in for chemo and his blood pressure had plummeted and he was running 102 + fever. They nixed chemo and sent him immediately to the ER. He was discharged yesterday, although we didn’t really get a lot of answers. His sodium is too low and he was advised to eat more salt. They almost didn

Venetoclax: The Final Stretch……Do You Have A Uric Acid Problem
I’ve just finished my tenth year since my Stage IV diagnosis of CLL and my questions today are about the incidence of gout in patients who have been in various forms of treatment. Early on, my Uric Acid was only an issue in case that tumor lysis syndrome was an outcome of the treatment. Later on

Decapeptyl for fibroids
Hi, I am six weeks into having the decapeptyl injections to shrink a 7 cm fibroid prior to surgery - myomectomy or hysterectomy. I haven’t had any menopausal symptoms and my bleeding has fluctuated the full time either light or the big gushes. I freak out as I was admitted in October needing blood transfusions

Are you currently experiencing issues around treatment and/or appointments in Northern Ireland?
Scleroderma & Raynaud’s UK have contacted us in relation to concerns which have been raised by their members regarding various challenges with care in Northern Ireland. Some of the issues include appointments such as Iloprost transfusions being cancelled and, when they do happen, the regular half-hourly

Update on growth scan- being induced on 15th February.
I have a complicated history- 2 live children, 1 baby born asleep at 20 weeks on November 2020 ( found out at 20 weeks scan) & 3 early miscarriages. Due to having a difficult birth with my 2 year old daughter and having a stillborn with post delivery complications- haemorrhage due to retained placenta

MF and Pacritinib
I've been looking at the Twitter feeds for ASH 2021 and others. https://ashpublications.org/ashclinicalnews/news/3850/Final-Results-From-PERSIST-2-Pacritinib-Superior In this study Pactritinib (Pac) is impressive. See chart here (from the twitter list) https://twitter.com/MPN_Hub/status/1471496020991172616

I’m sorry to post so frequently! My growth scan showed my baby is looking quite big estimated 5 lbs 11oz at 33 weeks and 6 days. She has had a huge growth spurt on her chart! Tummy measuring over. 96% on centile chart which sonographer said is the biggest indicator of a bigger sized baby. My grown up
