Prostate pain - xtandi/Xofigo & spot radiation

Hi all, just wanted to check if anyone would have any idea as to why Dad's prostate area is sore. He went to do a few minutes on his Excercise bike last week and said the pain in his prostate area was bad, he is getting up more frequently to pee at night (no pain but dribbles) and then today she said before he went to the bathroom he could actually feel Pressure in his prostate area.

Lots of fatigue today too but assume this is down to love hgb levels and post radiation?

He is currently on Xtandi, had high dose spot radiation last Friday to a large new met on his rib. Finished radium 223 in December full 6 infusions. Due CT scan March 3rd and bone scan March 9th as per trial (no surprises he will more than likely taken off the trial with the progression) HGB levels very low (7.5) he has had 4 transfusions since January.

Many thanks in advance for all replies ☘️

I am on Xofigo and am receiving External Beam Radiation Therapy - EBRT to relieve severe pain in a bone metastasis in the femoral neck near my left hip, Nickhmcg

I have been experiencing quite a bit of fairly painful sciatica in the same area since the 2nd or 3rd day of EBRT, but the original pain in the femur is already becoming negligible.

I am also experiencing a little more urinary frequency; nothing serious.

The painful sciatica is expected to completely recede after the 10th and final EBRT application, so the trade off should be well worth it.

Thanks J-o-h-n, unfortunately this one is meant to be the best, he is the leading oncologist for the trials in Ireland too. Personally I don't like him, he is so arrogant and has zero empathy. He told my Dad "great news your psa is 6" at his last zometa infusion, 2 hours later dad gets the blood work given to him and psa stated at 170. 😢 He was looking at someone else's chart, didn't even have the manners to come back and apologise to Dad just didn't go back to him.Unfortunately I learnt early on u need to be your own advocate in our health system hense all the research and questions my side.

We have a meeting with him after the scans in the next few weeks and he will likely be as unapproachable as always and Dad will be in tears in minutes.

Sorry rant over - thank you for taking the time to reply J-o-h-n 🍀

to Nick Mc.......

Show the doc an expression of Irish love....................kick him in the balls.....Tell the doc he fell short in his math learning......(6 vs 170) and his fooking reading skills....(wrong paYtient).....

I despise arrogant people especially doctors.

The difference between a brain surgeon and God is, God doesn't think he's a brain surgeon.

Give your Dad a big Hug and tell him that'll he'll be around for many many years....

Good Luck, Good Health and Good Humor.
