is this neuropathy?
As explained in previous posts I have two spinal fractures from X-ray January. Pain still bad and osteoporosis nurse pressed me to get stronger painkillers. Last week GP gave me 30mg codeine, taking with paracetamol but only slightly improved things. Pain is unpredictable, suddenly excruciating, shooting

Back Pain
Can anyone tell me what painkillers I can take for persistent low back pain. I have tried most of them but for some reason nothing seems to work. I have heart failure and CKD, so can’t take Ibuprofen. At the moment I’m on dihydrocodiene and paracetamol which I know is strong but unfortunately it doesn

Post Craniotomy Symptoms
So I had my craniotomy on Wednesday afternoon to remove a 4.5cm low grade Glioma in my right temporal lobe that I was diagnosed with in October. My surgeon was happy with the procedure and the MRI the next morning showed that he fully resected the Tumour, I was discharged from hospital pretty quickly

Laparoscopy healing
Hi everyone, A question for the laparoscopy ladies; How long did it take you to heal? It's been 3 months since my surgery, and I fear my pain is worse than before. I've been prescribed diazepam for pain which I'm taking twice daily alongside, paracetamol and menfamic acid. Is this residual pain from

stopped Pred but pain & stiffness came in knees. GP says it isn’t PMR
I stopped Pred about 3 months ago. My knees & hands have started being very painful- I could hardly walk & couldn’t play my musical instruments. Sent for X rays of hands. Some osteoarthritis. Took 5mg Pred for a day. Pain went away. Have carried on with Pred, assuming PMR still grumbling away. Intend

keyhole closure for ASD
👋 hello all, first post here 🌸 I am just home from a keyhole procedure to close a 1cm ASD hole in my heart. I wanted to reassure anyone who is facing this that it’s an amazingly smooth process, the technology and the medics are so brilliant. I had my treatment at Oxford. Came home only groggy and

Completely lost
I’m 72 & in general good health (I think) except for Osteopenia and that I inherited Restless Legs from my mum. I started on .25mg Ropinirole 7 years ago which was like magic but it’s slowly increased to 3x.25mg per night. Perhaps not a big dose but I learned via this site it’s best to switch from Ropinirole

Really struggled with my 5k run this weekend - felt like running through treacle and legs so sore I felt like crying. Woke up on Sunday with flu like virus which in hindsight was brewing on Saturday and would explain why it was so hard - so the lesson for me - sometimes it is ok to stop and I am

Pred Free
I have been Pred free since 1 February. I am not sure if I am kidding myself that PMR has gone. I have pains in my upper arms and hips but it is not asked with Paracetamol. Everything else is fine. Slight stiffness in the mornings but barely noticeable so might just be old age. What do you folks

Painkiller for after Dental Procedure
So next week I’m going to my dental surgery to get three tooth implants. The first session is when they drill metal rods into the bone. Once the local anaesthetic wears off it’s very painful. I’ve had one done before now this time three at once!! Last time I didn’t know about my CKD so as I can’t take

I think Tramadol has caused my RLS
Hi everyone, I'm new here and I'd love some advice, please. I have MS - I was diagnosed in the late 90s. I'm lucky that it hasn't affected me badly (yet), but I do suffer from pretty severe nerve pain. I managed it with Co-Codamol 30/500 for years. I'd been prescribed 8 per day but rarely took more

Advice please
Hi everyone, I’m fairly new to this group and was worried about posting but I’m feeling so lost. I am waiting on a diagnostic laparoscopy for potential endo. Pelvic pain started around a year and a half ago. I have had an internal ultrasound which only showed a small intramural fibroid but I was told
