Hello there. I don't know your medical history, or how advanced your lung disease is but if you have carbon dioxide retention at high levels, the carbon dioxide itself can cause headache, dizziness, nausea and other symptoms. One of the hallmarks of retention is nausea especially upon waking up in the morning. This can lead to other bigger issues so I would definitely consult your lung consultant as soon as you can.

Best wishes to you.

Cas 👋

Many thanks didn't think it could have anything to do with that but it is something will look into unfortunately we are well behind with appointments at our hospital due to the COVID .My lung condition allows me to breathe I quite easily unlike COPD but because my lungs are heavily scarred the oxygen doesn't circulate how it should I often go dizzy through this ....Thank you for you interesting reply

My daughter finds Codydramol helps with migraines- not a cure , but better than Paracetamol. I don't know if it's available without a prescription.

I hope the doctor can find the cause of this pain and deal with it.

When I used to get migraine the only thing I found to touch the pain was Paracetamol Extra. Unfortunately the 'Extra' is caffeine which for me personally was a nono during PM. If I could feel it coming if I took one paracetamol and one paracetamol extra then I could nip it in the bud. My chronic headaches lasted approx 10 days. Finally I was treated for migraine, prescribed a soluble tablet to put under tongue. It was wrong diagnosis though.

Years and years later I had a head CT for jaw pain/injury. Cranio consultant sent my scan immediately to ENT who showed me the scan & pointed out the completely blocked sinus cavities in my head & asked "don't you get horrendous headaches "?

Years of headaches were caused by sinuses .

I'm only mentioning this because I remember the very first one on 18th November 1987 🤣 whilst cycling fast for daughter's 4th birthday preparations. Searing pain out of the blue, thought it was a brain tumour, only tiny bit if relief was to lay in a dark room for days. ..head pain isn't automatically migraine (I'm definitely no medic though) as replies above suggest.

Why don't you ring 111, I believe they can get you a much faster appointment with yr GP. I think severe head pain would warrant that - don't mention migraine just say severe head pain. Good luck. P

I get migraines for various reasons, though fortunately far fewer now that I'm well past menopause. What often trips one still, is a very stiff neck from using a mobile phone or a computer with the wrong posture too much. Simple neck stretches will soon identify if this is the case, and sort it.

All the best.

I also get migraine... they're horrendous.... painkillers will take the edge of but generally the only thing to do is lie in a darkened room and block out as much noise as possible. My first one came after an epidural for a section when my daughter was born 28 years ago. . If you're having trouble getting to see a GP I'd get someone to take me to a&e to get checked out properly.
