Dis-appointment
Update Hello all. Well today I had my first f2f with the consultant since diagnosis and you can probably tell from my title that I am not happy. In fact I am really, really, really p'd off. She was very pleasant and not at all dismissive but she didn't examine, said she agreed that if I have seen

Vaccine encouragement!
Hi all Its Amy from Mencap I am posting about my 1st vaccine jab I was notified by text from my GP surgery in London and given a link to book a appointment which was useful. I decided to have to have the vaccine as it would save others and myself from this awful killing virus and had it in North London

Long Covid diagnosis
Hi Everyone, Having been unwell almost all of last year, I've just been diagnosed with long covid. I've had lots of different symptoms but the worse one is that I am so, so tired all the time, yet I can't sleep. I've never had problems sleeping - my problem has always been that I sleep for too long!!

Newly Diagnosed + New Hormones
So after years of symptoms I finally had surgery in Jan 2021 where I had confirmation I do have Endometriosis.....what a relief! The surgery removed all the endometriosis (ovaries, fallopian tubes, bowel). I was on a double dose of progesterone pre surgery for 3 years(ish) and I have now come off this

Pain management post head injury
Hi, My partner had a traumatic brain injury in 1992, and for their entire life they've been very sensitive to pain. They broke their ankle last week, and have been in excruciating pain no matter what painkillers they take or how often. From what I can tell, although it's difficult to find information

OMG it's back
Hello, I had PMR about 5 or 6 years ago and now realise the pain I've been in is a return visit. I didn't know it could come back. I will try and contact my doctor tomorrow but until then can anyone advise me what painkiller works best until I can get the steroid tablets which magically made the pmg

Dealing with pain and fatigue
Hi, Does anyone have any tips for pain or fatigue? My endo is back with a vengeance. I need more surgery but I am avoiding it. I used to be on 60 mg codeine but found it unbearable due to the side effects. It affected my cognitive ability which I need as I am a senior manager. I also have 2 children

Pain relievers for osteoarthritis
Thank you everyone for your replies and useful information. I’ve kept using the Tylenol with the heating pad but turned up the heat as high as I can stand it on sacral joints and hips and spent more time resting which has really helped. Going for walks is still painful but bearable. I’m going to

Headaches every day
Greetings fellow ET sufferers. I was started on hydroxycarbamide 500mg about a month ago...no problems on that dose. About 2 weeks ago the specialist increased the dose to 1000mg Mon-Thurs and 500mg Fri-Sun. That's when the headaches started and I'm having one each day. I get very little relief from

Fatigue from tapering prednisone?
GCA dx 2 yrs ago. Prednisone from high (early 2019) of 80 mg and very slowly now at 4 mg. As I've written so many times I have multiple health issues. I've learned many symptoms, pain, medication side effects and diagnoses overlap or impact each other. Right now the fatigue is so bad. Could this be

Looking for affirmation that I am indeed an idiot!
I don’t have the strongest of backs, have suffered sciatica on both sides in the past and had an op to try and sort a slipped disc, but today I decided to try and replace the saddle on my sons bike for him. The bike is still relatively new, but the seat post bolt was extremely tough Needless to say

Hi Undergone Circumcision with frenuloplasty 4 days back. Is this common?
1.When i pee, urine splashes and gets sprinkled all around the toilet bowl. Is this normal. When can i pee normally without splash. Also my tip of the penis (urethral opening) is swelling a bit. I guess i may be the reason for sprinkling. Swelling discomforts sometime because of itchy and as it should

Aching!!
I feel absolutely awful... the pain in my joints every single joint from shoulder to feet is horrendous. I had an awful night. Painkillers won’t help. I almost regret having the jab. I never expected this kind of pain at all. When will it go !!!

Pain relievers for osteoarthritis
Hello all, What do you use to relieve osteoarthritis pain. I’m having a lot of hip and sacral joint pain. Currently on 13 mg pred where I’ve been stuck for months. Tylenol barely does anything. Ibuprofen helps more but I don’t take it often because of the pred.
