I'm miserable. Four weeks ago today I injured my knee. I hadn't done any running for a while, so did lots of walks in the preceding couple of weeks. I do a there and back run down the Cuckoo Trail. So on the day I'd reserved for the first run, I warmed up and did a gentle jog to the outer point, then walked slowly back, then stretched. Did the same thing a couple of days later. But this time, by the time I'd got half way back my knee was feeling a bit stiff, and by the time I got back home, I could barely walk. The next few days were horrible. I think it is a hamstring injury. Googled a lot, rested it, barely doing 2000-3000 steps a day. This means I'm not sleeping very well, and it hurts in bed anyway and painkillers aren't helping. It's got a little better every day. Today the knee feels unstable and sore, but mending, I think, although still sore.
Please tell me this will heal eventually. I can't walk more than 100 yards and I hate it. I'm stretching the hamstring every day, just gentle prolonged stretches, no bouncing, no extending too far. Anything else I can do to help it?
