I've had an increase in volume of my screeching T both ears past 5 days or so. Ears very clogged, pressure in head and around ears...cheeks, neck etc, all sounds badly distorted. I've had occasional dizziness inthe past, but the last 3 afternoons, I've been sitting on the sofa with the crossword and after 15 minutes or so have had the most intense dizziness....I think its vertigo, its a feeling of things moving, feels like my legs are sliding, I get mild headache and just close my eyes and rest. It lasts around 30 mins before I feel upto getting up and moving.
Ive no doubt is related to my ears but I'm just puzzled at the onset being while I'm sitting quietly, just doing a crossword!
I did try to get into GP with no luck yesterday, will try again next week.
I had my CT beginning Dec so expect I'd have heard by now if there was a problem, so am not worrying about that.
Thank you

Hi holly rain, sorry you are suffering , your symptoms are exactly the same as mine, have had increased tinnitus for over a year but ear pain, neck pain and dizziness /vertigo is worse than ever, like you, I am just sitting down reading my book, look up , and the room spins, it’s so bad I no longer drive because I am scared it will happen and I will swerve off the road,
I have had numerous CT scans and they come back normal, have been to neurology several times too but they can’t see anything wrong which should be a blessing but like you said, why does it happen if you are just sitting down?
Good luck with your CT scan, I know it’s hard not to worry about it but I am sure it will be ok.
Sorry to learn you and I have similar issues. I've seen my GP today due to thee issues not abating and 2 out of the last 4 days where I've basically felt deaf. She did some moves of my head and said she thought the dizziness is ear related rather than head, and after further exam diagnosed Eustachian tube effusion. She has given me a nasal spray to use for a full month, and to monitor effect on dizziness. My CT report was back and (I'd not seen her before so had said I've been back and too for a year complaining of sinusitis and been dismissed - as well as seen 2 specialist consultants)....interestingly the CT shows a deep sinusitis on my left side!! But I'm waiting to hear from the specialist, failing that will go privately to look at it. So I felt OK, we're getting somewhere....did my chores etc, sat down with a brew and bam!!! It hit me again straight out of the blue.
Its taken me a good hour to recover, I closed my eyes during the worst to try to relax and it was the weirdest sensation over my eyes and nose. Things are settling and I'm feeling back in control now, but it really is horrid!! You truly have my thoughts and best wishes that you find the cause and thus an appropriate form of treatment
I've had tinnitus and ear pain for about 10 years, which was eventually diagnosed as a TMJ issue. I didn't believe that for several years, as I was convinced I had an inner-ear problem, until quite recently. My symptoms are much as you describe, especially regarding sitting.
In my endless quest to rid myself of this problem, I've been trying to address my posture while sitting and standing, as I know I have a head-forward position when doing both.
I am finding that sitting and standing with a more natural posture does seem to help both my T and ear pain. Trying to sit and stand better is hard to maintain, although I am going to persevere with it, as I'm finally seeing improvements.
I don't know if it would help your symptoms but I thought I'd mention it as something to consider. I mean, our necks are packed with muscles, nerves, and other vessels, so poor posture could be part of the problem. Either way, I hope your situation improves.
