To my friends from Malecare and those following me, there have been recent changes, and I haven't been posting anything, because I've had so much fatigue and I have some difficulty in navigating this new site. Now I'm having extreme pain in my prostate, which couldn't be removed because of the involvement

After More years of pain and many stays in hospital my bowel Consultant invited me to have tea with him

Feeling Poorly
I had my first dose of chemo yesterday I didn't feel ill but not amazing either. I expected to feel buzzing after steroids but I didn't feel better until the evening. Today I don't feel well either but nothing I can put my finger on. Surely the steroids should have me in house cleaning mood. Have taken

I'm looking for suggestions for high calorie meal replacements for my mum with partial obstruction. Would really appreciate some advice.
Bit of background - my mum was diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian in March 2015. in the last two months she has had partial intestinal obstruction, and the avastin she was on doesn't seem to be working. She may be starting a different chemo soon, however at the moment she has been in and out of hospital

Healthy New Year (part 2) 💋
Well, where do I start?! I left you in 2015. I'd been sent home from hospital. I managed one night at home then had to go back via A&E. My stomach pains were worse still. I was admitted, whisked off, by an angel of a junior doctor who knew he'd be in trouble but couldn't get hold of a porter, for a CT

Sorry I've been AWOL
Did I let you know that my hubby has been diagnosed with bladder cancer? Anyway, that's been the reason for my absence, though I've still been reading the updates that come into my inbox. Its gone from me being the cared for and retiring to a ground floor adapted flat to me trying to look after him

I finally had post-surgery consultation!
Following on from my 1st laparoscopy in August, I had a post-op appt yesterday and I was told I need another surgery in the new year. I was shown the pictures of my inside and I felt really bad for thinking the surgeons didn't do a good job the 1st time as my tubes, ovaries and bowel look all tucked

Losing my rag
This is both a rant and a question, so I apologise in advance. I am 22 and have been diagnosed with endo for just over two years, suffered with it for three. First diagnostic lap was around this time two years ago, and they didn't remove anything claiming it was too risky. Cue zoladex, no HRT. Total

Absorption of thyroxine
I have an Ileostomy and am wondering if anyone has heard or read anything regarding poor absorption of thyroxine with a stoma. I don't know where in the gut Thyroxine is absorbed but I know that some drugs are absorbed in the colon and since I dont have one this can sometimes be a problem.

Bile leaking from PEG-J site causing severe burning to exterior skin around the site
Does anyone else have this issue? I had the PEG-J put in earlier this year and am feed solely through this with Nutrison concentrate. My stomach is severely damaged and the feed by-passes it to go directly into the jejunum. The site is oozing bile all day and night causing severe burning to the stoma

DO NOT abandon hope if you have an 'ostomy.
Ulerative Colitis @ 15y > Ileostomy @ 19y - now aged 73y. I was advised* that those who still had a rectal stump (& anus) have a much increased risk of CA. My stump was removed @ 29y - There was no medical follow up about this risk (maybe there is now). It is my hope that those with a rectal stump are
