Liver failure
My partner is an alcoholic and the years have finally caught up with him. He has a damaged liver and caught Hep E a few months ago, he has spent 2 months in hospital, but he has been discharged they can't do anymore. He is very yellow and breathless, cold, sleeping all the time, the latest is confusion

Are they missing me?
Now I am in remission with no tumours what comes through the door but mammogram appointment and bowel cancer screening. Oncologist cheerfully says do the mammogram, - I could still get cancer there. Rang the hospital for the bowel to explain that I haven't got much bowel left after the surgery and hemicolectomy

Colostomy
Dont panic. There is a lot of info on the internet. Type in bladder and bowel foundation. Ring colostomy assoc. Having a stoma is no big deal. It may be temporary for three months to let the intestines heal and will be reversed. I have opted for an ileostomy for incontinence. It will at least give me

Colostomy surgery
I'm having surgery in 3 days, I'm so scared. My diagnosis is colovaginal fistula after a hysterectomy 20 years ago, and C sections prior to that. I'm having adheliosis, (lesions removed) from bladder vagina and colon. There are 2 surgeons both doing their bit. They have said there maybe a stoma in

Saddest day
I have never posted on here before but my darling sister has been fighting this horrendous disease for 2 years and has now come to the end of the road. I probably shouldn't fault the treatment she received but the length of time it took for her to get a diagnosis when she knew that there was a problem

Would love to hear from ladies diagnosed with advanced OC
I feel very alone as I've never met anyone with advanced OC. I am having a debulking radical hysterectomy on June 10th. My para-aortic lymph nodes are involved. I am a young and active (otherwise extremely healthy!) 57 year old and still can't believe I have this disease. The consultant hasn't staged

Happy Birthday Stoma
10 years ago today I awoke from surgery for a first recurrence to find that I had a stoma. I was very fearful for my future as I had been told that it was likely I would recur again. Plus, with the new plumbing arrangements, I wondered if I would ever be able to go out in polite company again without

Can't see a happy ending, can anyone help?
It's been a while since I've been in touch, so much has happened, I'm 28, been in a 6 yr relationship, no kids, desperately want, I have severe endo, an active cyst wrapped round my ovary. Had a flexible sigmoid yesterday and they have found out I am a rare case as now the endo has grown through my bowel

Nothing, then two come along together
Just when I was beginning to wonder if I would ever have a hospital inpatient stay again I get two close together. Just over a month ago I felt pretty ill and started throwing up some very dark brown granulated looking stuff which 111 decided was blood and sent an ambulance out, they agreed and I was

In your best signing voice..... "Here we go again, la di da de de, all good pals and jolly good company!"
Yes ladies (and a few gents) I think I have finally gone mad. As you know from previous posts, I am a-symptomatic, and I was on a wait and see what happens. Well it's happened......rising CA125 now at 3821 and in the oncologists words, "things are growing". Spots here there and everywhere, but the

Recovery time
Hello all. I've just been told I am to have my 2nd op in March (after a year of being told there is nothing they can do). My symptoms have increased leading them to believe I have Endo now inside my bowels (heavy bleeding from back passage, increased pain) which will need to be removed as well as Endo

Colostomy problems - parastomal hernia?
Don't know why I never asked advice from you lovely ladies before. I am sure someone out there has an answer or can give me some advice. I have a permanent colostomy following debulking surgery in November 2012. Never knew I was going to have one so it was a bit of a shock. I must admit I have never

Choice of chemo drugs
Diagnosed with stage 3 oc and have been offered chemo of carboplatin with taxol. I had stoma surgery 2 weeks ago in readiness for this. Although I'm new to the site, having read many of the posts I realise there are many of you who have already been through so much. So do any of you have opinions about

Failed salpingectomy
Hi Ladies, I had a laparoscopy early September to remove both my tubes which are blocked by endometriosis to give the next cycle of ivf a chance to work. With my first cycle, the consultant found fluid had leaked into my uterus from the damaged tubes which probably prevented the embryo from implanting
