PMR/GCA Solitary Lung Nodule
I have a diagnosis of Atypical PMR symptoms started December 2022 Consistent throughout past 9months since symptoms began has been a chest wall pain mostly at shoulder blade level. I was given a diagnosis of PMR after about 3months as it being Atypical because the inflammatory markers were not raised

Clinical Trial Considerations??
I’ve been presented with a clinical trial and I’m open to feedback. Background: I’m 71 and in pretty good health. I was diagnosed with two Gleason 6 lesions in late 2021 and went on AS. At that point, PSA was in the low 4’s. Earlier this year, PSA rose to 6.7. MRI and guided biopsy uncovered one Gleason

Congestion
I have Bronchiectasis and Asthma, over the past month or so I am continually congested with unpleasant mucus. I had a few days of, for me, severe asthma, which was sorted out with a short course of prednisolone. I just cannot seem to get rid of the congestion, keeping me awake at night and I am so

Tetanus booster while on prednisone?
Has anyone had the tetanus booster (I'm due for a 10-year one) while on prednisone? Am I correct in understanding that we should not have "live" vaccines? And I can't find any information that mentions if it's live or not. Thank you so much for any insights!

Painful feet, back, thighs
It is now 1 1/2 years since I was diagnosed with GCA. I started on 60mg prednisolone and have now reduced to 7mg/6mg with the help of Tocilizumab/Actemra injections for one year, now stopped, and methotrexate 10mg per week, which I am still on. I have had one relaps last summer but have been ok since

Endo is recommending radioactive iodine
At my last endocrinology appointment, it was strongly suggested I have radioactive iodine therapy. I'm not terribly keen, for reasons that many of you here have pointed out. I still don't know for sure that I have Graves'. The endo didn't think it mattered if it was Graves' or not, she would still recommend

Advice please! re inhalers, steroids, personality, voice... and breathing balance.
Any advice? I have been diagnosed with asthma. I also have past sinus polyps and take pantoprazole for stomach acid. I feel like I have inflammation from my ears to my insides. I get quite wheezy but mostly in throat and upper chest - sometimes sounds like I have a little bird cheeping in my throat

Sick days
I saw my rheumatologist today. He does not believe in increasing prednisone on sick days or when there is more stress in our lives. I guess each of us have to make our decisions about the variety of advice and information. Of course, I am also on Kevzara and I don't see people in our group mentioning

My GCA Update
My Rheumy just called to say that my temporal artery biopsy came back positive. She put me on 60 mg. prednisone and submitted a request for approval of Actrema from my insurance. I’m not happy that I have it, but it does feel like a relief to know what is causing me to feel so poorly.

Puppy sitting, infections, transplant impatience and the importance of taking photos
Another couple of months have flown by since my last post! Sadly no transplant calls in that time but I did have to go a short time off the list in order to kick a chest infection into touch. Over that now and back on the list which is great news. Doing my best to soldier on with the exercise but been

Questions about using prednisone for a flare
Hello I have recently been taken off of methotrexate and only using rinvoq also using some Celebrex and Tylenol. Those meds are really not enough, I've started having pain in feet and overall inflammation. My doctor said I can have prednisone if I need it. I was just wondering how much prednisone

update on dissolving prednisolone
this is the make of prednisolone that I have discovered will dissolve in a little water. Maybe some other sufferers have been given these recently but don’t realise they dissolve. They are bitter though.

dissolving preds
Does anyone else dissolve their prednisolone? The latest boxes I have say they should be dissolved and taken after breakfast. I have been doing that even though the taste is pretty unpleasant and I follow it up with a couple of spoonfuls of yoghurt.

I wonder if anyone knows why or has experienced a rise on PSA level (from 70 to 274), 6 months after radiation therapy (VMAT x 26 sessions)?
Before and after radiation therapy, dad was taking Bicalutamide 50 mg and Alfuzosin50 mg together with a quarterly Leuprorelin injection. This month (October), after receiving his Leuprorelin injection, Urologist advised to stop taking Bicalutamide as it is no longer effective due to hormone resistance

Use of CDB 10 mg pills
I am currently on 12 mg prednisone and 20 mg methotrexate a week for PsA and maybe PMR. I have heard that taking CDB can help with relaxing, sleeping and general feeling down due to the way this illness makes you feel. Is this safe?
