Weight
I’ve been on Prednisolone since end of January. At first my weight dropped due to lack of appetite, but this last week it has gone up quite a bit. When it didn’t happen at first I thought I’d be lucky & get away with no rise. Am I kidding myself? I know I haven’t been exercising as much as usual due

Bee Sting and Prednisone
This is probably the most trivial question that I have asked the group thus far, but I was just stung in the neck (right where the lymph nodes in my throat reside) by a very angry bee and I was wondering if there are any issues with bee stings when one is on prednisone? I am tapering to 7mg from 8 on

35mg Pred after a year of GCA,PMR
Hello, I've had GCA and PMR for a year. I'm on Actemra and prednisone. I was reducing and got down to 12.5mg three months ago. But the symptoms came roaring back and I kept having to increase the dose. I've been on 35mg for one month. I tried to reduce by 2.5mg but the unbearable headache came back.

PMR confusion over drug timings
Hi, I have PMR and been taking prednisolone for about a year, trying to reduce and now on 9mg daily. I take Omeprazole in the early morning, before Pred. and then the calcium chew. I have seen on these posts recently that the calcium should not be taken near to the Pred as they do not react well with

PMR like symptoms r/t chronic tooth abscess?
Most recently it's been discovered I had a tooth abscess. The dentist belive I had tooth infection for a long time. Prior to leaving for the Camino I had this tooth removed. Is this the root (no pun) cause of my infection raising my inflammatory markers since 2021 which return inflicted PMR like symptoms

Amgevita Update plus daft question
This Amgevita has really helped me and to date have had no real bad side effects after four injections. In fact all my little niggles around the body have eased so if anyone gets offered it / don’t be afraid like I was- take it and hopefully it will work and keep working My only niggle now is that

Tocilizumab
Hi. Has anyone had Tocilizumab injections for pmr? I've been looking at recent research which seems to suggest favourable outcomes for pmr sufferers who have problems tapering prednisolone.

methotrexate and Covid booster
I’ve just had my Covid booster, when I asked the nurse if I should pause my methotrexate for 2 weeks she said, no, definitely not. She checked with the GP there and they said there was no evidence to support pausing methotrexate. I’ve definitely read that pausing methotrexate is helpful. I’m currently

Covid booster prednisolone dose criterion - NHS
Update to post below: Thanks firstly to all who responded illustrating the inconsistency in Covid booster policy. Anyhow, after being refused a booster by my GP practice, I received an NHS text asking me to come in for a booster as I “may” meet the criteria … again to be assessed when presenting myself

headaches??
I have been recently diagnosed with PMR with pretty classic symptoms and good response to initial 15 mg a day of prednisone. After a month reduced to 12.5 which I will be on for a month then carry on with gradual reduction of dosage. I am completely pain free but have noticed I’m getting headaches ,

Been doing great lately, reduced again from 10 to 7.5mg prednisone. My crp is under 10 from 103
I had seen the rheumatologist and had dropped from 12.5 to 10, after the visit. Now for last 2 days I am down to 7.5mg prednisone, my own decision, I am certain he wont mind.... It still feels a little ragged in the AM, but I recover well and feel good all the rest of the day after a few hours. Still

Prednisolone and diarrhoea
Been on steroids for suspected GCA not quite three weeks now - went down from 50 mg to 40mg after first week. Not generally feeling too bad though not as bright as I was in the first few days of steroid honeymoon. Am having some issues with loose and sudden stools which initially I thought were an antibiotic

Running out of road....
... I've got a consultation with my oncologist tomorrow. I've huge respect for him - he's been with me throughout this 'journey' from initial diagnosis 14 yrs ago. But, he tends to follow SOC (although will support me in straying from the path. I'd welcome some suggestions before I talk to him. My situation

Endometrial regeneration
I posted a few weeks back when our 5th transfer had failed (3rd with donor eggs). I wasn't sure if I wanted to continue and I got a lot of support here for which I am grateful. We have no embryos left but 2 rounds left in our package- we've deciced to see those through and then probably stop. Obviously

Recovery
Has anyone used a supplement called Recovery for inflammation. I have a friend that has PMR and uses recovery in conjunction with prednisone. He says it’s helping him reduce his prednisone and is thinking of continuing with it when he gets off prednisone. I am presently reducing my prednisone .25 mg

Off limit foods?
Has anyone ever been told not to have certain foods like blue cheese when they are taking DMARDS or on Prednisolone? Hubby bought blue cheese and I love it but I saw online I'm not supposed to eat it. I'm on sulfasalazine and pred.
