Medication interaction

I was recently diagnosed with AF and heart failure and prescribed digoxin and Bisoprolol as well as Edoxaban and now wonder if it is still safe to start my rescue pack on top of these. I have had Doxycyclin and 8 prednisolone daily prior to this. Also as breathlessness is supposedly a side effect of most of these how can I tell which is AF, which is COPD and which is me rapidly becoming a hypochondriac?

Oh dear, I sympathise Tykelady. I've seen my AFib neighbour using pursed lip breathing for her SOB. Yours could be a question for the helpline. P

Hi, I agree with peege about ringing the helpline. Your pharmacist could reasure you about drug interaction. Best wishes.

As peege and CDP016 advise, ring the help line or ring the Pharmacists, where you get your rescue pack and heart meds.

Spoke to the surgery pharmacist who assured me that it was safe to take the steroids with the heart medication if necessary.

Dear Tykelady, firstly, I am sad to read you are feeling so poorly, I have broncheactisis and get very fed up with feelings of exhaustion. I take 2 carbocisteine twice daily which helps and in the past I have been prescribed Prednisolone course which really helped me after 2 sets of antibiotics. I know everyone is different, but for me, Pred was like magic. I wish you well.

Dear Tykelady,

It would be ill-advised to take your rescue pack without the express approval of your GP and/or consultant.

Having both cardiac and thoracic problems is complicated. Such matters should not be referred to this forum.
