I am currently on 12 mg prednisone and 20 mg methotrexate a week for PsA and maybe PMR. I have heard that taking CDB can help with relaxing, sleeping and general feeling down due to the way this illness makes you feel. Is this safe?
Use of CDB 10 mg pills: I am currently on 12 mg... - PMRGCAuk
Use of CDB 10 mg pills
Wouldn’t be legal in the UK. Perhaps your pharmacist could advise you. I am currently so tired that I wouldn’t dare take a sedative.
Not usually recommended to be taken alongside Pred - you’ll need to check with your doctor -
A few people have found it does help with other aspects though not with the PMR itself.
If you changed the title a bit, take the 10mg out, you might get CBD related posts rather than 10mg pred related posts!!! The HU search engine strikes again!!!
Hello. I have found that a low dose of CBN/THC at a ratio of about 4 to 1 helps me sleep. I split a unit so I take about 2.5mg CBN and .6 mg THC each night. The product is an edible (candy) that I get at the Ontario Cannabis Store (Canada). It is low cost and if it is a placebo, it is an effective one. I have read that CBD interferes with the benefit of prednisone.
I've been on medical THC and CBD for 7 of the 8.5 yrs on prednisone. Prior to legalization in Canada.
It took about 2 months then I realized it helped with the side effects of prednisone at high doses such as mood etc. I used the thc at night to help me sleep.
The cbd also helped in the reduction of prednisone for me.
I've been off prednisone now 9 mos almost 10 and continue. I had an extremely difficult time with adrenals so still sluggish.
Good luck.
I have just heard on BBC radio that CBD oil has been associated with liver problems. I have pasted the text from the BBC website. 12th October 2023.
UK food regulators have lowered the recommended safe daily dose of cannabidiol (CBD), a cannabis extract present in many different High Street products, including drinks and snacks.
The Food Standards Agency says the advice is precautionary, following concerns long-term use might cause liver and other health problems.
Adults are being advised to have no more than 10 milligrams of CBD a day.
The previous recommended safe daily dose, from 2020, was 70 milligrams.
And the FSA is warning some products available in shops and online contain more than 10 milligrams of CBD per serving, which is about four to five drops of 5% CBD oil.
FSA chief scientific advisor Prof Robin May, said: "The more CBD you consume over your lifetime, the more likely you are to develop long-term adverse effects, like liver damage or thyroid issues.
"The level of risk is related to how much you take, in the same way it is with some other potentially harmful products such as alcoholic drinks."
always best to check with the doctor before you add anything else, especially as you are taking both prednisone and methotrexate…. Personally I need nothing other than my heated blanket or a hot bath to relax me xxx take care xx
You too.
