I wonder if anyone knows why or has experienced a rise on PSA level (from 70 to 274), 6 months after radiation therapy (VMAT x 26 sessions)?

Before and after radiation therapy, dad was taking Bicalutamide 50 mg and Alfuzosin50 mg together with a quarterly Leuprorelin injection. This month (October), after receiving his Leuprorelin injection, Urologist advised to stop taking Bicalutamide as it is no longer effective due to hormone resistance resulting to a rise on PSA level. Instead, take Abiraterone Acetate with Prednisone.

Thanks. So he has lung metastases, and he was given Lupron with only Casodex? I don't understand that, but I'm glad he is getting abiraterone now.

The radiation he received was only for debulking purposes and was never meant to be curative.

Should he be given other medications besides Lupron and Casodex at that time? Thank you

My husband’s psa has risen after every treatment. When he first began his journey with the hormone therapy, it initially went down and pretty quickly started to go back up. Then he started with Docetaxel, same thing it went down initially and briefly, then started to climb. He’s now on Pluvicto and it still continues to bounce back up. It’s so upsetting. I really hate the psa.

Hi Ma'am, I read something regarding Pluvicto being the best cure. But from what I know, this medication isn't available yet in my country, Philippines.
