Not sure what's going on
I've had a fairly decent year. I've got PMR with extracranial GCA / LVV. I've been on 7 megs prednisone for most of that time, upping the dose for a couple of days whenever I've had stress. For the last 3 weeks, though, I have had lots of aches and pains (hips, knees, shoulders) along with more than

Flare confirmed with PET scan
This is an update which I promised from my previous post and I have some questions at the end. About a month ago I reported that I had stopped Tocilizumab and I was waiting to see if the GCA had gone into remission. I had no GCA symptoms and no eye problems confirmed by the ophthalmologist. I felt better

Hi, just a recap...was diagnosed with PMR early this year by GP, (am 48 yrs) started on 30 mg prednisone then tapered down, increased pain so back to 30 mg again. Also had numerous bloods, ultrasounds, x rays, ct scan which showed bursitis in both hips and shoulders. GP referred to rheumatologist. He

Kindly requesting help again
unfortunately it now seems I have a diagnosis of Rheumatoid Arthritis as well. I’ve been really unwell with severe pain. Still waiting for an NHS appointment. Paid to see a Private Rheumatologist and I’ve also had an ultrasound scan. With all that being said, because of all the different inflammatories

Statins
A Doctor at the Diabetes Clinic (I am pre-diabetic) recommended statins when I inquired about how to offset the tendency of Prednisone to raise blood sugar. I don't want to take them. Is there a valid reason why I should? I was diagnosed with PMR in Sept 2023 and I am currently on 12.5 mg of Prednisone

Just had My Monthly Injection of Firmagon Monthly Labs PSA is Up <0.06 to 0.09
That’s pretty modest. I’m assuming I will wait till next month to see if it goes down. Kind of stressed with this new diverticulitis and blood bowel thing AND Moving. Got results of psa after I saw My Medical Oncologist so haven’t discussed modest jump. Even with bleeding from rectum the gastroenterologist

New to RA /methotrexate looking for advice.
Been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis a few weeks ago and starting methotrexate tomorrow which I’m starting on 10mg for 2 weeks then 15mg for 2 weeks then 20mg from there, also 5mg of folic acid the other six days and 5mg of prednisone for now but reducing it. Do I need to worry about anything ?

Prostate cancer but normal PSA?
HI All. I had my first ever PSA at the age of 62 and it came in at over 26. I took a repeat and it came in at 25, then a week later I took another and it was 29. I had a biopsy that came back positive (cancer in 11 of 12 samples) and even though both my CT and bone. However, they indicated that since

Stopped Actemra, new questions
Hi community, I decided to stop Actemra after 1 year so I am not on so many drugs. I was concerned about the risk of infections, diverticulitis, etc. I figured that so many people have done this with only Prednisone, that I can too. Here's what has happened since. I stopped Actemra 1 month ago. I

Prednisolone and low stomach pains
Because of a vasculitis flare up I recommenced prednisolone 15mg this morning with my breakfast of porridge and blueberries. Within 2 hours I git severe stomach pains- very low down - which hasn't gone away. I spoke to my GP a short while ago and have been advised to stop them and have an appointment

Does GCA ever go away or just into remission?
hi. I have GCA but off prednisone since end of June. No flares since. Is GCA gone or once you have it you always have it and I've just been lucky to have no flares so far? Is it something I always need to be little alert to? Thanks for any thoughts you might have. I read here daily and so appreciate

My story of my 23 year battle with Pca.
I have decided to share this with the group because yesterday a guy shared his fear. In no way should you take any of this as a suggestion for treatment or refusal of treatment. I was diagnosed with Pca Gleason 3+3 July 13 2000 ar the age of 49. When the Dr. gave me the results I started sweating profusely

My pred experience scares me.
I really need some help understanding what's going on in my body. In late April I had been at 25 mg for a while with mild PMR-like symptoms. Then, one day all my symptoms went away after I made a big positive life change. I then tapered down to 6 mg over a three month period without any problems.

Could a Wasp sting challenge adrenal response?
I was stung by a wasp yesterday morning and lost the whole day to pain and fatigue. It felt as if my body was responding to the attack of the tiny sting and although it wasn’t what I believe to be a full blown anaphylactic response involving swelling and difficulty breathing, within an hour my lower
