raised Inflammation markers, pain not typical

Rheumatoid, Peri-Menopause, HRT
I am 54 and have had RA for 34 years. I am at the end stage of perimenopause, and close to transitioning to Menopause. The RA feels worse. My joints are so achy even my muscles hurt at times. Anyone suggestions from experienced ladies. Does HRT help? My current medication list is Humira 40 by weekly

Lab Tests Indicate High Lipase
Has anyone taking prednisone and Actemra had a high lipase on their routine lab tests. I’m on 4 mg prednisone and bi-weekly injections of Actemra for GCA. I get lab tests every month, and the past several months Lipase is high (usually around 60-70). I’ve done a CT scan with the dye, and was told

Q: MRI /MRA Results Normal
I am relieved to report that my scans came back normal. No aneurysms or abnormalities seen. I had head and neck done; with, and without contrast dye. The question I have is regarding something PMRpro commented on a few posts ago: that the tests are worthless if you’ve been on prednisone for a while.

covid 19 antiviral meds
just tested positive Covid 19, not sure whether to take antiviral meds this time. Last covid infection I did take and shortly after recovery from Infection was diagnosed with PMR. I’m currently on 19mg prednisolone.

Need help
I first was diagnosed with PMR and suspected GCA in Dec. 2018. Started on 50 mg of. Prednisone and tapered off after a couple of years. Had another bout but finally completely off prednisone by Sept. 2022. I've had a few of the odd reminders like having a problem getting up from the sofa and being exhausted

Still undecided
Hi all, I have an appointment this afternoon with my pulmonary consultant. When seen 3 months ago she suggested I start anti fibrotic tablets. I am currently on Prednisone. The thing is everything I read has been about negative side effects that people have when taking these tablets. Do you think anyone

Staying on 5mg indefinitely.....
Forgive me if I've brought this up before but after my rheumatologist advised me that there are little or no side effects when on 7.5mg prednisolone providing one takes the right precautions - Calcium, Vit D supplements and healthy eating habits e.g. low or no sugar, low or no carbs, etc. I thought I

abiraterone instructions
just started abiraterone and note conflicting instructions for dosing…….MO instructions are 1 hour before food 2 hours after( makes sense for empty stomach)…..Monograph that came with meds states 2hours before food 1 hour after….how are most of you who are on it taking it? Prednisone WITH food complicates

GCA flare and eye sight
I have GCA. I have a new rheumatologist who practices at University Hospital in a clinic designed for patients with vasculitis and certain auto immune diseases (GCA being one of them), who has told me that I need to not worry about losing eye sight during the course of tapering prednisone or a flare

looking for reassurance or advice
Hello warriors, After exactly 2 years of happily dropping PSA numbers on triplet therapy, my husbands PSA went up this month from .91. To .94 I know MO will say to wait for 3 months of rising PSA before we should panic, but that’s easy for him to say… looking for reassurance as we wait for next months

Reduce or Not Reduce Prednisone
I have had a very difficult time over the past two years to get below 1.5 mg. Using the dead slow method for the past year i have been able to drop from 3mg to 1.5mg. While still feeling very fatigued, I'm experiencing my leg muscles while sleeping, wanting to develop into a full blown cramp, but not

PMR discussion with Dr
Hi - after some great advice on here yesterday I asked my doctor about PMR which eventually she decided I have symptoms so after a long appointment and her telling me they wouldn’t do a ERS test as it’s too expensive for the nhs plus other tests that I needed doing for thyroid , I came home and it almost

Stop Prednisone completely?
I was diagnosed with PMR about one year ago and placed on 13mg of P. It hit me most in the shoulders and hips: e.g., I could not pull up my trousers because the action of doing so naturally moves your elbows towards the rear of the center line of one's body and that caused great pain. Could also

Broken record head pain
I am once again at my wits end. Sharpe pains in my head on the right side near the temple. I had this a few weeks back and upped my dose to 20 mg of prednisone. I am now down to 9 mg. I have the Actemra injections once a month. I cannot help but feel there is something else going on in my head, not

Update:whats going on
Hi, saw my physio today, explained to her that leg, back, knees, hips pain haven't improved, in fact getting worse. She advised me to stop all excerises she'd given me and to see if I feel better, worse or the same. I have an appt for 2 weeks with her to reassess. She advised me to go back to the GP.

My son’s PSA rose a bit today.
My son’s last PSA three months ago was <.01 but today it was <.10.It was previously as high as 22. He’s also tertiary five. His Mayo doctor told him to continue to test every three months, stay on current meds Lupron, Abiraterone/prednisone for another year and two months then stop meds and wait

Now down to 1/2 mg Pred. Feeling good.
Been on 1/2 for 3 days with no ill effects. Have lots of energy. Seem to have lost the need for prednisone. Still on Methotrexate 12.5 weekly and daily hydroxychloroquine. My glucose levels are back to what they were before PMR. Question is can I reduce Meth? At some point likely won't need any. At

Tezepelumab/Spirometry with Reversibility
Hi, hope everyone is managing well. I’m just looking to hear others experiences if possible. I’m quite complex and don’t show a high FeNO and spirometry is normal and my asthma is driven by neutrophils for inflammation. Best peak flow is 440, hovering around 220-350 - 220 is pre meds in the morning
