Hello everyone....I have had my first appointment today and I've been tested positive for rf and ccp, the doctor said that I have the antibodies but not the swelling so I haven't got rhumatoid arthritis yet but it will develop it at some stage. Apparently I won't start on any medication until I have

Prednisone injection not giving much relief.
Hi all. I had my steroid injection 2 weeks ago, but it has given minimal pain relief. Can anyone advise if there is anything else available for pain relief, do i need to contact the rheumatology team? I am already taking naproxen and co codamol. Thank you Penny

Newbie awaiting diagnosis
Hi, I'm new here and as the title says I'm in for the long haul of waiting for a diagnosis. For the last 6 weeks or so I have been crippled with pain in most of my joints and muscles, swelling in my feet, hands and legs. At times I can swear it is like a paralysis working down my body as everything seems

in trouble!
I am having problems relating to a tendon/muscular problem that is worsening by the day. I posted before and got good advice thank you. I cannot take nurofen, naproxen and the stuff to take to soothe your tummy beforehand omeprazolene. I stuck to paracetamol but then that gave me problems too. These

Can it grow back in less than a year?!
I'm crippled with pain again and it feels like it's affecting every part of my life, I take 900mg of gabapentin every day. It's making my hair fall out, I have sore spots on my scalp and my chest, it makes me angry and short tempered and depressed. I had a lap to remove stage 1 just over a year ago and

Methotrexate Affecting Periods?
I'm 40 and just 6 weeks into MTX (occasional naproxen but no other meds). My cycle has always been fairly predictable. Then last month I had some pink spotting a few days before my period actually started which was odd but I didn't think any more of it as my period arrived as normal a few days later.

laparoscopy waiting times - how much longer?!?
Hey ladies, I'm on the waiting list for a laparoscopy and apparently I'm marked as an 'urgent' but have been informed I'll receive a date within the next 6-8 weeks, WHAT?!?!? Now I've worked in the NHS since I was 16, I've worked for cancer teams and just general radiology admin. I know all about waiting

Xofigo update
Had my 6th and last Xofigo (radium 223) infusion yesterday, PSA .66. Recap, minimal side effects through all 6 injections. Great pain relief by 2 weeks after 2nd injection allowing me to go off Hydromorphone 2mg every 4 hours. Pain now managed well with naproxen sodium 220 mg every 8 hours, keeps pain

Could an increased platelet count & clumping be asprin related?
I've been taking asprin daily since having a heart attack 11 years ago but have cut right back on it this past month or so because of stomach problems, I've had to stop taking naproxen completely. I had a blood test a few weeks ago which showed a borderline high platelet count plus clumping and was

How do I take Naproxen?
Hi All, just reading the earlier post on Naproxen and I think I might have been taking it wrong! My GP prescribed it to me a couple of years ago, at the start of the diagnostic process when I was having a lot of random flares. I was diagnosed with seropositive RA a few months later and put on Hydrox.
