Successful 4th vaccine
Last February, my partner had his first AZ Covid jab and ended up in hospital with intense pain, finally he was diagnosed with PMR! I don’t believe the jab caused the PMR, rather than it just triggered a severe reaction as he had had the symptoms but no diagnosis previously. In July, after much thought

Shingles vaccine for cll patients
I'm a high-risk cll thriver on ibrutinib for 6 years with no ill effects and great blood counts. To encourage you, I will add I survived severe covid after a month hospital and 1 week ICU stay. Thanking God. Now I have shingles. I was told not to have a shingles vaccine as it was "live" and could give

Waking up in the night
My partner has been on prednisolone since last March and had reduced to 9 mg by November. He has gradually dropped back and is now on 10 mg with

Asthma control
Started clenil 200, blue ventolin and steroids at 30mg 5 days ago but still not much improvement. Worse as soon as I wake up. Tried Fostair 3 times but did not agree with me, made me feel nauseous. Anyone else experienced this side effect ? My gp stopped it. Last time I had asthma was 4 years ago, some

Back muscles and side of body muscles a mess
I have PRM since July 2021 but it started after 2nd Moderna shot. My first symptoms after 2 weeks from the shot began overnight. Terrible back muscle stiffness and screaming muscles. I used Tiger balm 4 times a day, heat, got new pillow. Gradually over maybe 1-2 months other symptoms settled in too

Research needed for vaxx/CLL
We need research to give us some idea of effect of vaccines on people with CLL compared to its effect on general population. So far no idea. I have never had flu vaccines or flu because i know how to be careful so i trust myself more than the health authorities and their one-size-fits-all advice.

PMR and vaccination
The onset of PMR that I have suffered is undoubtedly linked to the administration of the Covid booster at the same time as the Influenza vaccine. Exploration of the research data reveals that there is a low incidence of adverse auto immune reaction; sufficiently low to discount. Now however one learns

Pneumococcal Vaccination.
I had a repeat pneumonia vaccination 2 days ago (here in South Africa, they are done every 5 or two years depending in your age.) This is the first one I have had since being diagnosed with PAF and two days later I had a short bout of AF - HR no higher than 106 at which stage I took 1,25mg Biso. and

I consider myself lucky
I guess I am one of the lucky one's. I had all three shots, didn't feel good for a couple of days, but I have had worse. The new flu shot for senior bothered me more the Cd shots. 2 1/2 years ago I was diagnosed with A Fib. But on meds, Eliquis, heart meds. But I had a 100 pounds of fluid around me

New year, still here - jabs and tree-dismantling injuries notwithstanding 😬🎄
Well, November was a bit of a washout with both the flu jab and the booster knocking me sideways. Since then I'd been quietly getting in my little run walks, building up the run sections until they lasted 8 minutes, when my Christmas tree did for me. I was kneeling down to unscrew the base for dismantling

Can bandaging help while exercising?
I have had secondary lymphoedema in both legs for about ten years and a year ago it got a lot worse in my right leg for no reason that I can understand other than, I think, the flu vaccine. Until then I had been running for about half an hour three times a week and walking holidays were no problem.

Buffafly's post, Loss of appetite, off food, rising INR
Thanks for that Buff. Very very interesting - I always find these heart/gut connection articles interesting. always a little gem to pick up even if it just makes me think in a different dimension about my gut problem solving. Now before I go on I should acknowledge some other stuff on this forum which

New Year, new lungs?
Entering 2022, I'm not disappointed to be waving goodbye to 2021. Covid ruled over us all in the early part of the year and then reared its ugly head again at the end of the year to add further anxiety and stress. However, for someone who up until March was having to shield, in reality it never really

Shingles- Shingrix for immuno compromised
I have been able to get the non live Shingles vaccine Shingrix from my NHS GP practice. Due my second dose inJanuary. Thought those of you who are under the impression that this is only available privately (which it was up to a little while ago.) should know. Happy New Year to you all.

Shingles vaccine
Just a quick follow up to say I have now had my first jab of Shingrix. Which according to the nurse and nhs website is now available to us. ( from Sept 21) Apparently I was the first one my surgery had done. Mt arm reeeallly hurts, but otherwise so far so good. And Happy Christmas everyone.

Flu
Morning all I apologise for labouring a point but I haven't had the flu vaccination to-date as I'm still hesitant regarding side effects with Hashimotos if any. I have booked the vaccination for Thursday leaving me two days to decide. Would really appreciate any input from you. Many thanks. 🎄

CLL/SLL Ongoing
Hi all, I was diagnosed December 17th 2020, been told I have had CLL SLL for a while. My only symptoms and still are that I have large swollen lymph nodes in my neck and groin hence it’s SLL. I go to the gym and go into work although I’m now working from home again, I’ve had 3 vaccinations against COVID

GCA and shingles
I have GCA PMR vasculitis and now have painful facial shingles. Taking ante viral tablets but I cannot get my booster jab or flu jab until I am clear. Unfortunately the shingles keep reappearing. What would be the dangers of me having my booster jab while my shingles are still active
