Shingles vaccine before JAK inhibitor?

Hello lovely people,

Was just wondering if anyone decided to have a shingles vaccination before starting a Jak inhibitor? Know it’s a live one.

I’m currently just on methotrexate having failed numerous other meds and biologics…been suggested I try Rinvoq next. Just a bit concerned about the shingles risk, I had chicken pox as a child but I’m in close contact with my grandbabies and know we don’t vaccinate the young ones here in the UK for this (although having said that my daughter wants the chickenpox vaccination for our 2 year old tot,privately if required).

Know I would probably have to delay/halt any treatment if I had this vaccine.

Any thoughts?

Thank you..I’ve since found a lot of information as usual from the gang here…not all good news but hey ho…not called ra warriors for nothing!!
