Hlw ladies, I will be starting my ivf treatment under GCRM..but today I had my first appointment in NHS..Here I found some different things regarding test and MMR vaccine..I am confused now should I start treatment under NHS or private? Though money is a big factor but I just want to get the best treatment and dont waste my time..can anyone tell how long it will take time to start my 1st injection after my first nursing appointment under nhs? I am really worried about it..

Hi there. Best of luck for the future for your IVF.

I’m sorry to hear that you’ve been left quite confused.

The NHS is a fabulous service. However, due to it being a publicly free service - there can be delays to care or extensions to care where you might think aren’t necessary. The NHS Fertility Clinics will work the same as the private clinics but private clinics work faster and don’t beat around the bush because you are paying a significant amount for the service.

If money isn’t a problem, I would consider going private - just so you are fully in control of your care, you know the timescales and appointment lengths and frequencies.

If money is a little short, the NHS will do exactly the same procedures as private - but the length of time to get things progressing can be affected by general healthcare circumstances (waiting times, appointment availability etc).

However, both the NHS & Private IVF Clinics or Private Healthcare Services only want what is best for you - and to assist you with your reproductive future.

If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact the clinicians or service providers at both of the clinics. You may benefit from writing down your questions and asking to see a clinician face-to-face in view of gaining some clarity.

Best Wishes 💕
