Recent HF diagnosis
Hi, I was diagnosed with heart failure a couple of months ago when I woke up one morning struggling for breath with fluid in my lungs, having had virtually no previous symptoms. Looking back, maybe I was a bit short of breath over the last few months but did a sprint-distance triathlon 6 months ago so

BNP 1800
I have atrial fibrillation and my BNP tests that indicate risk of heart failure was 800 and is now 1700. The stats I have looked at are grim eg 80+% chance of death within 10 years and 50% for 5 years ( at around 2000 BNP near my numbers). Does anyone know if there is a treatment to lower BNP to under

Cholestyramine
My husband has had explosive diarrhea since mid February. After blood tests, stool samples, colonoscopy, and more stool samples, they are not able to determine what is causing the diarrhea. The doctor has prescribed Cholestyramine. Has anyone had experience with this medication and did it help?

Hubby feels rubbish 6 weeks after heart bypass
Hi everyone My hubby had a double bypass 6 weeks ago. He did very well initially, but it's 6 weeks now and he feels he's gone backwards. Still in pain with his chest, but now feeling more weak in his arms. Getting in and out of his chair is painful. He feels very unfit - top of the stairs and

worried in France
Good evening everyone. wishing everyone a peaceful Easter. I am in need of a little advice from you lovely people. Since last Friday, I have been experiencing irregular heartbeats and combined with occasional AF. At least I presume that’s what it is, very fast beats. I don’t really know how long I should

not yet properly diagnosed but really struggling with mental effects
I decided to not take Carbimazole at first thinking this diagnosis most likely incorrect and current state could be transient - my thoughts were similar to other replies I’d received that this could be Hashis and it could be a transient hyper phase - symptoms worsened by way of severe
