had emergency open heart surgery to replace aortic valve .no family to help or support and no close friend so recovery alone was lonely …now feeling fatigued even though its been 4 months . Joined community groups to help mental state …but at 55 it been quite a journey …

blimey, that must have been tough. Well done for getting through it. I'm at about 14 weeks post op after OHS and energy has been getting better - hang in there

I was in the same situation a couple of years ago, also live alone Recovery isn't linear so you may have good and bad days for several more months.If you aren't already a member of the Facebook group UK Aortic and Heart Defects Pre and Post surgery then please consider joining. Lots of support from others in the same situation.
