Not wanting sleep
Does anyone not want to face going to bed because waking up means immediately facing constant bathroom trips? I dread waking up as soon as I’m vertical I need to go to the toilet and after 5 or 6 times and a couple of Imodium I can finally drive to work.

Travellers Diarrhea
Has anyone ever been abroad before and came back with diarrhea? I actually managed to get through 12 hour flights and 3 weeks in Brazil with only a couple of bad episodes .. thanks to Imodium helping me through. The day we were due to fly my stomach was so bad which was not unusual for me with anxiety

chronic diarrhoea 4 days.
I honestly feel like just stopping the prednisolone. It’s one thing after another. Nothing is staying in my stomach and I feel so weak. Any advice appreciated. Do I take Imodium? 🙏

Will lower dose of Nintedanib stop the terrible side effects?
After a long wait, a bronchoscopy and endless CT scans and lung function tests, I finally started on the standard dose of 2 x 150 mg Nintedanib at the end of February. The first few weeks weren’t too bad, my gut was unhappy and I experienced the expected diarrhoea. Took Imodium as advised. But then

Need help finding Diet App for tracking dietary intake
Hi. I have been monitoring my intake but no formal or efficient way to track daily intake: protein, sodium, potassium, calcium, phosphorous, sugar, fat, calories, etc.I also track water intake, which is much easier. I've been writing down what I eat, but this is so time consuming. Does anyone know of

Need advice on dosage of thyroid
My wife has hypothyroidism she is 70 years, have learnt the hard way that getting the correct dosage right is counterintuitive. We live in Somerset, she pays private for Earfa, her current dosage is 30 mg or half 60 mg pill. Just got the results TSH = 2.57. T3 = 4.0. T4 =8.1 Both the T3 ( 3.8

Natural T4 vs synthetic T4
All the experts say there two are essentially the same. But is that definitely the case? Some people (my wife for one) can't tolerate synthetic T4. At present she's T3 only. Just wondering if she might be able to tolerate Armour or other NDT, eg. because the natural thyroxine is bound to a transport

success with Threearrows - for anyone struggling with LOW IRON/FERRITIN
After 6 months I am finally seeing some progress with my iron panel! I spent 3 months on 4 ferrous gluconate tablets a day and my ferritin, saturation and iron barely budged. In fact, my serum iron actually decreased. I felt completely miserable with the prospect that I wouldn’t be able to optimise

Atrial natriuretic peptide
So I went on a bit of an adventure. My last episode, while again still thankfully not as intense as previous episodes, had an interesting twist that I hadn't really noticed before. I had to pee 6 times in the space of an hour. So I went searching on the internet as we do, and I learned about atrial

My experience with CKD
I wrote this in a chat and then realized that maybe sharing my experience with everyone, might help someone. So here's my story. I too, have CKD 3A and I also was given the, "ok you have it, see you next time!", from my GP and even from the first nephrologist I went to. It didn't seem right to

Subclinical thyroid disease for 5 yrs
My thyroid has caused me few obvious problems in that time, other than varying T3 results. Before Xmas, 2022 I had a radionuclear scan which diagnosed toxic nodular goitre. I returned in January '23 to discuss what Endo want to do. Apparently, my choices are RAI or take Carbimazole. The dose was low,

Should PPIs be stopped when stomach bugs get a grip?
Since increasing omeprazole by 10mg ( 30mg ttl ) have had mild diarrhoea the odd day or two, but now had explosive squits for 7 days. Stopped omeprazole about 5 days ago, not even getting acid reflux now, but also no appetite and whatever I eat turns to water and is expelled about 4 hours later. It's
