Has anyone with ET suffered sudden complete hearing loss in one ear?
This has happened to me after having my ear looked at querying wax. Told ear was clear and immediately after leaving audiologist my hearing had gone completely. I have since seen GP who said their WAS wax and prescribed drops of sodium bicarbonate for a week, after which an attempt was made to wash out

Options after Zytiga fails
I've been on the Magnitude clinical trial for 8 months and now Zytiga has failed. I have extensive bone mets (greater than 30). The most recent bone scan shows 5 new mets so I'll be off the trial. I'm in Canada and think my next options are either Radium 223 or chemo. I've had genetic testing and

0% potassium ketchup
Hi, been away for a while, but have a quick question. Our Kroger grocery store sells a Kroger brand ketchup that has 50% less sodium and zero potassium. Can I trust this label? How can ketchup (made from tomatoes) be zero potassium?

Hints and tips to get 7 year old to take sodium picosulfate (stimulant).
We’re just starting disimpaction process and have a very fussy child. I’m pretty sure he’ll hate the picosulfate and just wondered how people were administering this. What can I use that’s not juice to disguise the taste?

Keto diet - two weeks in
I have spent 2 weeks eating keto way with TRE (only breakfast and lunch, so no food after 4pm) and here are some of my experiences. I was worried about the amount of food I was eating, and my weight loss was not spectacular (1.6kg, and most of it during the first week), but I noticed a few extraordinary

Blood tests = Can of Worms. Anaemia or Hyperthyroidism? B12 & Serum Folate too low or OK? Other results all over the place! Any ideas?
Hi All, I have no idea what any of this means, but even I know some of it looks skewiffy! A couple of the results were flagged by the test itself; these are RDW and MCHC which may relate to thyroid function. Also the Serum Folate and B12 look a bit low so may be affecting my thyroid too. Are you able

Low iron but normal ferritin levels. Iron tablets?
Hi. My symptoms of RLS have become noticeably worse in the last 9 months. I had my levels tested in March this year and my ferritin was 35 and my iron was 6.7. I was given an iron infusion which raised my ferritin to 172 and my iron to 8.1, which is still low (11 to 18 is normal). I noticed my RLS symptoms

Questions about Topamax
Hi, Everyone. Haven't been on here in a while. My doc wants me to take topamax. This is to reduce migraines but I've read it also might help RLS. Does anyone here know if it causes augmentation (since it's a dopamine agonist)? Any other info you can offer would be helpful, too. Side effects? She's

Sorry all for not posting in a while. I am a high school counselor and we have been on summer break. I have been doing some mini renovations around my house, traveling and honestly getting caught up on sleep and family time from the craziness of the last year and a half. I went to my GP last week

High B12 without injections - Symptoms of deficiency
TL;DR: Has anyone had levels of B12 above the standard reference range (while never having had any B12 injections) before getting diagnosed with PA? Hello everyone. I've "lurked" on here since my husband was diagnosed with severe liver disease in March 2021. He gave up alcohol the day he was admitted to hospital and I'm so proud of him for sticking with it determinedly. We're 4 months on and he's been through several ascitic drains, feeling terrible

Low stomach acid tests
I asked some questions about B12 and Diarrhoea here: https://healthunlocked.com/pasoc/posts/145437733/vit-b12-and-diarrhoea Some people came back suggesting that low stomach acid (hypochlorhydria or achlorhydria) is a cause of stomach acid. I did the sodium bicarbonate "burp" test and it seems I might

acid reflux
I know I've seen posts about acid reflux here before, but I'm not finding any success stories in the posts. I think that digestion is a problem for many thyroid patients. In my case, I'm never aware of reflux, but I become hoarse. A prescription for Nexium has been helpful, but I think not a real
