Adult daughter with severe learning disabilities, non verbal,, autism etc. needs to see endo in London area for correct diagnosis as has put on weight . Suspected diabetes and/or thyroid problems. Awaiting blood test results. and has taken Epilim for 30 years combined with Vimpat for last 4 years.

I realise this is very specific but does anyone know how I can find this rare endocrinologist who understands such a situation and will be understanding ? I have tried Mencap and am not having luck in reply from local learning disability nurse as yet.

Many thanks for your time

Hi

I hope you hear from others on this platform, as sharing information can be a good idea.

We don't have details for any endocrinologists unfortunately.

Can I just check you also know about our other services? If there is anything else we can help with please do get in touch.

We have our Talk and Support groups, social media and befriending service.

We also have a membership offer which is designed to help people stay up-to-date with all the latest epilepsy news, views and research.

Finally if you think it may be helpful to speak to one of our advisers in more detail you can contact us by live chat or the Epilepsy Action Helpline freephone 0808 800 5050. Our helpline is open Monday to Friday 8.30am until 5.00pm and Saturday 10.00am until 4.00pm.

Regards

Jess
