Does anyone not want to face going to bed because waking up means immediately facing constant bathroom trips? I dread waking up as soon as I’m vertical I need to go to the toilet and after 5 or 6 times and a couple of Imodium I can finally drive to work.

Not wanting sleep
As the day progresses my discomfort level decreases (usually) and I'm feeling more with it, but then I'm so tired I fall asleep almost immediately. Multiple wakes but not able to relieve it so it's just painkillers then in morning it's a rare day I'm ready to get out before 9 as I get comfortable. So yes, I have that. Maybe I should try to sleep vertically since horizontal seems to make things worse.
I am very familiar with this dread of waking up, and with the sheer joy of drifting into sleep to escape it all at night! As a result I got myself into a habit of going to bed very late because I actually felt OK before bed, but hated the mornings, which even though things aren't as bad now and mornings not as scary, I still have the habit of going to bed late.
Be careful about what you eat for your evening meal and evening snacks. Plain things that have less chance of upsetting your gut might be best. That might help the "morning blues" a bit. But yes, I empathise.
Do you have a stressful job? That might contribute to upsets. Or you might need to work with your diet and stop eating anything you think upsets you.
I used to dread the morning, always waking early with cramps and many trips to the loo not really alive till about 11am half the day gon. Until I was put on amitriptyline for fibromyalgia. Fibromyalgia effects the gut function. I'm not 100% but it has really helped. In fact has slowed things down so I have to take fibogel occasionally. Worth it!
Yes I am not with it at all before 11am. Even though most times I only go once to the toilet, I just feel grungy. The worst thing for me is waking up and lying for a moment feeling okay and just not knowing from day to day what to expect with my #2 plus my energy levels etc. There are no signs until I get out of bed. It can honestly make a person not want to get out of bed. Some days are fine and normal, and some are a bit dodgy, and there is no telling what will happen even if I ate really "safe" food the day before.
Yes, I had this problem as well for many years (Had to go 4/5 times in the morning). Then I took Alflorex for 9 months, FODMAP diet, I have gluten and lactose intolerance, I take daily Psyllium 2x day, I started introduce some food which I knew it were giving me flare up, now it's about 4 months I'm feeling almost normal. But always carrying in my bag Imodium and lactose enzyme and if I have loose stool before I leave the house , I take Imodium, just to make sure I'll not need to run to find toilet. 👍It is always stressful to think about what can happen if you don't find a toilet. 🙁
I have the same problem. It lasts for a good four hours. Actually, my IBS D It’s getting worse I can’t even do my cardio and weights on most days. I am so drained from this and I am an active 65-year-old believe it or not. I don’t look my age but I’m feeling it due to this condition. I’ve tried so many things I’m at my wits end.
same here. Dread getting up in the morning, struggle to be at work on time, can’t leave house until feel safe to do so, makes me anxious which doesn’t help!! I’m nearly 60 & I too am at my wits end.
I hate waking up in the middle of the night with wind pains. It happens most nights and I have difficulty in getting back to sleep. Drinking peppermint tea helps but not always. I regularly get out of bed at 5am because of rectal pressure. My stools are always normal.Today I've started trying Gastrone activated coconut charcoal capsules to see if these solve my problem. Anybody else tried them?
Does anybody have any other ideas?
