benralizumab (fasedra)
I am keen to hear of experiences with benralizumab including side-effects and the length of time it’s remained effective (or whether it stopped working after a while). Also whether it has enabled people to come off oral steroids and bronchodilators. I was diagnosed with severe eosinophilic asthma,

what’s next
Hi all. Diagnosed with PMR 5 weeks ago. Prescribed 20 mg of prednisone. Just received my follow up lab results. C-Reactive Protein dropped from 39.6 to < 3.0. Sedimentation rate from 18 to 6. See my GP on Monday to go over this. What can I expect? Commence prednisone tapering? If so, what are your opinions

What do these blood test results mean, please.
These are the results of the blood tests I had done earlier this month. My doctor didn't tell me to fast beforehand, but thanks to advice from this site I had fasted for the previous 12 hours. The doctor has now told me that no action needs to be taken, but I note that one of the readings shows that

whey or soy protein
Now that I’m mostly vegan, I’m having challenges ensuring I get the daily recommended amount of protein. With advance metastatic prostate cancer should I lean to whey protein or soy protein? Also on the milk side I’ve been using Silk almond/ cashew but wondering if instead I should change it up

Asthma advice/sharing your symptoms/peace of mind please.
Hello all, Would appreciate your thoughts please. First all nice to virtually meet all of you on here. I hope overtime on this forum. To connect with some of you and help to support one another. So it appears I have some form of mild asthmatic/respiratory issue. I'd just like to explain what's happened

Prensidone
I was hospitalised a couple of weeks ago with a severe attack taking me down to 150. They let me out with 5 days of prensidone. My peak flow is now an amazing 650, most mornings pre meds, which is better than my previous best of 622! However regular attacks take me down to 400, and any exercise like

Variable peak flow daily
Hi Team wondering if anyone can help. Peak flow when checked first thing in morn is about 360 and best of 3 is around 380/400. I check peak flow at lunchtime and it up sometimes to 500, but an hour or two later could be 380. Does anyone know why my peak flow is so variable, keeping peak flow

Fatty Liver - So worried
I gave up drinking about 3 years ago with some 'blips' along the way where I tried moderation which I absolutely know now does not work. However, the dragging sensation I used to get in my liver area when I used to take a drink has persisted into sobriety. I approached the doctor to look into this in

Keto/low carb for Hashimoto’s Hypothyroid
So I’ve been seeing conflicting info online about whether low carb is the right way to lose weight when hypo. Some websites are saying keto causes too much acidity leading to increased inflammation (which we already have too much of) and too little insulin impairs the body’s ability to convert T4 to

Another Medichecks set of results for your expertise please as my brain fog can't make sense of them.
My TSH results through my GP swing from 0.03 mu/L to 8 mu/L over the years and back. In November 21 result was 0.0 mu/L and I was on 150/125 Levothyroxine alternate days. GP decided I should reduce dosage and put me down to 125 mg and retested in January when it came back as 0.1 mu/L so reduced me again

Low Carb on Prednisone for weight loss
Hi all, I hope this isn't a daft question. I've put on just over 1st while taking prednisone, luckily I'm now down to 3mg and doing OK. I understand the best way to lose the weight is by cutting my carb intake. Obviously, starting with processed cakes, biscuits, chocolate etc. But where I'm getting

Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN)
Has anyone tried LDN? I have Hypothyroidism (Hashimotos), Fibromyalgia, Brain Fog, occasional insomnia. I take Levothyroxine (100mg) for Thyroid but don't take any medication for Fibromyalgia. I don't intend to substitute Levothyroxine but would like to know if LDN has helped anyone? Thank you
