Been having tests because of severe anemia. Just been informed i have celiac disease so going on gluten free diet. My breathing has been so much worse this past twelve months. Breathless even when walking my dog . Never used to be. Could the anemia have been making my emphysemia worse . Has anyone had any experience of this. X

With the caveat that I’m not medically qualified. Anaemia can directly cause breathlessness as a symptom, so if the anaemia is rectified, then hopefully you may find improvement. When I was first trying to get my mum’s respiratory issues sorted out, she was found to be quite severely anaemic and it was adding to the breathlessness she was experiencing, in addition to causing palpitations and fatigue.

As Charlie_G said, anaemia can be a cause of breathlessness. If that is treated hopefully you will feel an improvement in your breathing too.
